Contribution to the Society

Last March 2018, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) released the updated
features of coins to all-silver line up for the 1-centavo, 5-centavo, 25-centavo,
1-peso, 5-peso, and 10-peso coin. The consumers experienced confusion due
to the same visual appearance of the coins.

Since the new designs of coins have been released it has caused widespread
confusion. Most of the victims are the drivers of Public Utility Vehicle (PUV)
and seniors citizens. As we all know some drivers have no one to assist them
in their job, in effect there are some instances that they fail to give the right
change to the passengers. In order to provide a solution to this problem, we
innovated a device with the use of products/ materials that are cheap and you
can easily find in your homes. We call it the “Coinganizer”.

Contribution to the Environment

In the environmental aspect of this product we have chosen materials that are
cheap, easily accessible and environmental friendly that will ensure that the
product can be easily made by people even in the lower class of the society.

In making an innovation, an important factor that a product should have is the

ability to help the environment, or as it says, eco-friendly. This coin sorter
contributes to the environment in a manner that we will use recycled bottle for
the coin’s container. Most of its parts are made of carton. It can be recycled by
using some used cartons in stores, factories and other businesses. It is made as
such to be able to lessen the plastic production so that even in a small move,
we can help preserve our ecosystem.
