Recreational Adult Hockey League Makes Debut in Greer, SC

GREER, SC - Welcome to Greer Upstate Recreational Hockey Association (GURHA), a

premier Southeast organization offering two inaugural adult programs. All games are
played at The Ice Station, 211 School Street in Greer, SC.

As part of any program, you will enjoy the following benefits:

 Prime ice slots on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (details
below)

 15 games guaranteed per season (12 regular season plus 3 playoff games) (A
league 13/2)

 League play tentatively set to begin on April 1, 2020

 1 game a week with another awesome opportunity to play twice with a second
league

 A Gold Bracket and Consolation Bracket (all teams will get 3 games guaranteed
in the playoffs so their season doesn’t end if they don’t qualify for Gold Bracket or
lose early in playoffs

 Each team receives two free pitchers of beer and an appetizer after every
game at one of four downtown Greer bars/restaurants (will rotate)
  Each game has a Player of the Game for each team (with prize)

 Other prizes that will be awarded: League MVP (player and goalie), Playoff MVP

 Maximum roster size of 17 skaters plus 1 goalie. Players may split cost with other
teammate if they can’t make all the games. Can only dress 14 skaters plus goalie
for each game including playoffs.

 Leagues offered: A,B,C,D

The Ice Station Locker Room

Fees:

Cost for Bring Your Team (A,B,C,D) program is $4,650 when paying online but $4,500
when payed by check. That translates to $300/game per 14p/1g, $20pp. Full payment
due at registration.*

Cost for Tiered program: Tier 1 (AB) 6 teams max and Tier 2 (CD) 6 teams max. $300
per player plus online processing fees (This league is a “draft" league).

Schedule for programs is as follows:

  A - Sunday games, 6 pm, 7:15 pm, 8:30 pm, 9:45 pm, 11 pm
 B - Sunday games, 6 pm, 7:15 pm, 8:30 pm, 9:45 pm, 11 pm
 C - Monday games, 8 pm, 9:15 pm, 10:30 pm
 D - Wednesday games, 6 pm, 7:15 pm, 10 pm, 11:15 pm

Tier 1
AB - Tuesday games, 7 pm, 8:15 pm, 9:30 pm, 10:45 pm

Tier 2
CD - Thursday games, 6 pm, 7:15 pm, 8:30 pm, 9:45 pm

*Note: We are not sanctioned by USA Hockey at this time, so no USA membership
number is needed. However, GURHA has recognized the value in offering some sort of
supplemental accidental medical coverage. All the details will be known soon but here is
an overview of coverage:

 Excess Medical Policy

 Medical Maximum: $50,000
 Deductible per claim: $100
 Accidental Death: $17,500
 Based on 250 players, the annual premium is $11,222.50. This comes out to
approximately $45 per player and is paid in addition to league fees.

The Ice Station Lobby and Common Area

League goal:

The goal of this league is to provide a fun, competitive environment for every player,
both on and off the ice. The league will continue year round with no breaks between
playoffs ending and a new season starting. There are other major sponsors that will be
revealed soon to help enhance the experience.
