HOMEWORK 1

Encourage critical thinking with 3 questions ted talk

Citizen that's going to inform on the Traditional School Systems here: We know what it
would take to make better schools and students. We've suggested this for decades. If
anything, they make the schools worse each time they try!

The info in this video is good and useful, however the problem lies with the system!!
We can talk about suggestive ways to make things better, but it's up to the actual
governments to hold their end of the bargain. I can recall countless times through
hundreds of people's situations & my own, where no matter how much we tried, the
worse they made it.

You can work at a gas station and by the end of the year you probably made as much
or more than a teacher. Our teachers actually pay for most supplies out of their own
pockets and nowadays they can't even get reimbursed for it. They're overworked,
overstressed, less support, no finances, constantly derailed by parents and or the
school system itself, etc.

Parents can help their children become critical thinkers.

Bedtime stories are great but they are even better if they are interactive with parental
questions. At the end of each page, ask the child: what do you think happens next?
Which character would you like to be? Why do you think she would make that choice?
What would you do instead? Make it a game and it can be fun.

DEMO REFLECTION

I´m going to follow my lesson plan but in the moment that I present my class, I forgot

some steps for starting the class. In some parts of my demo i felt nervous but then I

interact with the class. Also I forgot the name of the student but i think that was part of

the nervous.

On the other hand, I improvise some examples for teaching the most important part of

my lesson.

I liked the way I got along with my students, we laugh a lot and I think they enjoyed my

class. I also liked my ppt’s. They were really helpful for me.

However, I made too many mistakes, I forgot to scaffold and model. I also forgot to

deliver instructions correctly. I got nervous and that made me hesitate a lot.

TO TALK ABOUT IN ACTIVITY A:

TO TALK ABOUT MY FRIEND WHO LIED IN HIS RESUME FOR GET A JOB

I have is about a guy who made up his sales experience. He

didn't understand the position we were filling — we were
looking for someone to answer phones, he thought he was
interviewing for a sales job — and on his resume, he
mentioned that he closed over a million in sales at his
previous position. We were interviewing this guy as a favor, so
we asked the person who was bringing him in about his sales
experience. It turns out he was the assistant for someone else
who did over a million in sales, and that guy was terminated
for improperly handling account information.
