ABOUT ILNU YOUTH PARLIAMENT &

VIDVAT PARISHAD

In keeping up with the tradition of stimulating young minds, we at

Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, bring you the fourth
edition of the Youth Parliament in Connassiance 9.0 to bring out the
zealous minds that are eager to see the transformation and witness the
country grow.

Complementing this culture we bring you the first edition of Vidvat

Parishad – an ambitious project of creating a platform of pure academic
and research based discourse in order to revive the lost self-ego of the
Indian Academia.

The three-day lit fest aims for a healthy and enriching debate, discussion
and deliberation scheduled from 12-14th October 2018. Our organizing
team has been burning the midnight oil for months now to make this event
a grand success. In order to ensure that we achieve this, we earnestly look
forward to your active participation and association in this event.
 COMMITTEES & AGENDA
Youth Parliament is a forum for young minds to speak up and make an impact on the relevant
agendas concerned with the country. In order to take our country a step forward, it is only suitable
that we take on as the policy makers and highlight the need for young and dynamic thinking. The
Youth Parliament forum will not only inspire the participants to express their views in an organized
way but will also clear the pathway for emergence of ingenious future leaders. This event seeks to
efficiently channelize the increasingly opinionated young minds. It is the ideal opportunity for us
to step forward, to question policy as well as its makers, to emphasize that we are not satisfied
with the status quo and to bring about the ideas for change.

This year, the ILNU National Youth Parliament shall comprise of 3 distinct forums where
participants can hone their skills. The forums shall include Lok Sabha Committee, the Inter-Faith
Council and the Vidvat Parishad. The Lok Sabha Committee shall be conducted as per the
conventional Lok Sabha norms with a contemporary relevant agenda concerning the nation before
it. Whereas, the Inter-Faith Council will be a committee comprising of representative religious
leaders of the world who will indulge into inter-religious

dialogue.

Lastly, Vidvat Parishad is an ancient Indian concept in which the scholars sit together with the
only intention of curing the differences by understanding each-others point and then coming to a
solution with consensus. This forum shall invite academicians from the varied concerned fields
who will then discuss the relevant agenda.

With our objective of Youth Parliament 4.0

#NothingConventionalThisTime we have moved away from the
conventional debate about policies of BJP and Congress, this time the aim
to stimulate real diplomacy and actual debate. We at ILNU are thus
resolved on the point that the quality of the debate is must and activities
such like need to be outcome oriented. The agenda will be discussed in a
simulation of newly elected Lok Sabha where the country has voted for
all the new faces with new ideologies. Our objective is to simulate a
Model Lok Sabha rather than merely a Mock Lok Sabha wherein,
representatives would have a chance of debating and manufacturing their
own stand on the issue. The total number of seats in the committee are
limited to 50.

There three awards for the Lok-Sabha Committee :-

1. Best Parliamentarian.
2. High Recommendation.

 INTER-FAITH COUNCIL
AGENDA: The Nature of God(s)

Religion is still the essence of the society in India, we just cannot separate
religion from the social problems. We need a platform where we can
discuss on issues of national importance from the perspectives of various
religions. Inter-Faith Council will be a committee where the delegates will
have the chance to work upon understanding the religion and to discuss
about it. We will be inviting some religious leaders and scholars to enrich
the committee. The committee will largely be research based and will
remain closed for school going students.

They will be given the chance to choose from:

1) Hinduism (doctrine or sect like, Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Advaita

etc.),
2) Islam (doctrines or sect to be mentioned like, Shia, Sunni, Sufi etc.),
3) Christianity (Doctrine and sect to be mentioned),
4) Other Indian Sects (Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism and any other, in
this also sect and doctrine to be mentioned),
5) Atheism,
6) Pure Science and Feminism.
 VIDVAT PARISHAD
AGENDA: Reviewing the Modern Education System in Indian Universities.

Vidvat Parishad is a concept in which scholars, masters and academicians

sit together to discuss on issues with the intention of solving it. In Vidvat
Parishad everything needs to be balanced, the discussion can neither be
all about rhetoric nor about isolated facts. Vidvat Parishad demands points
to be properly formed. Arguments and issues raised must contain the
reality, practicality and morality. Vidvat Parishad will bring so called arch
rival ideologies into a room where the followers of those ideologies can
understand the point of other, along with making the other understand
theirs. It is overall a very ambitious dream which once succeed will
provide a platform to the scholars to discuss issues academically.

The main purpose of the Vidvat Parishad is to bring people from different
ideologies together to build a fraternity of scholars by providing them a
chance to deal with their internal differences, who are dedicated to the
intellectual development of the society. It aims in creating such source of
knowledge which is accessible to all.
