A. Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have (Jim Rohn). All the things

that we have here on earth are only temporary and are not ours. Everything is owned by our creator

and it is only right to share to others the things that we have. What we have chosen to do was to

give food to the street children. Before the activity we felt so excited that we will be able to share

our blessings to others. Though our parents can give us things more than what we need, they taught

us to share and help others whenever they need help. During the activity we can see in the eyes of

the kids that they are very happy and thankful that they received food from us. It’s not every day

that we receive gifts from others and not everyone receives gifts during the Christmas season. Just

like the children, I also felt very happy seeing the happiness that can be seen in their faces upon

accepting the food. Like what Ben Carson said, “Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but

from what we give.”, sharing is better than receiving because it only means that we have things

that we can share to others. It doesn’t matter how much we give but how much love we put in

giving, according to Mother Theresa. When we give we must give it wholeheartedly. After the

activity we felt very blessed that we were able to share what we have to others and we were able

to make others happy.

B. Happiness is when you want nothing and you want to give. Where the wanting and desires end

and the sharing begins , happiness is there, according to The Coach. In the activity that we did the

other persons were the street children. As what they say that, sharing is loving. When we give we

give it with love, we give it from our hearts. According to Martin Buber when we give, the person

who received the gift becomes a part of our life, they become a part of the moment in our life when

we can say that we became our creators instrument of giving His people the things that they need
to survive. We became instruments of our creator to help those who are in need. And as they

received the gift, we also become a part of their lives as someone who is generous enough to share

to them the blessings that we also received from the creator. Even if they are persons we do not

know personally we find real happiness in sharing what we have to them.

C. The activity became a manifestation or practice of justice in a way that we were able to give

justice to the injustice of this world. To the injustice that some were able to receive more than what

they need to live everyday while others struggle to find food for their families, so that their families

can eat at least three times a day. As what Benjamin Disraeli said, “Justice is truth in action.” The

activity became a manifestation of justice because we truthfully and willingly gave them food not

only because we were told to but because it is a desire of our heart to help those who are in need,

and the said act was a form of justice. By giving them food we take part of making the injustice in

terms of things people have become justified by the thinking and reflecting that everything has a

purpose. If everyone has more than what they need, probably nobody will work under the

supervision of someone who is in a higher position than them. And we must believe that, “Love

only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.”,

according to Bryan Tracy.

D. I am taught by my parents to never look at others as someone who is below what I am. I always

remember my parents telling me to help others and share whatever I can give, just like what Jesse

Jackson said, “Never look down on anybody, unless you’re helping them up.” This helps me

become a better person every day in my life because it makes me realize that all of us are fair in
the eyes of our creator. There is no one higher or lower than us in the eyes of our creator. By

sharing to others the blessings we have received from Him we become His instrument in taking

care of His people. “Giving is not just about making a donation, it’s about making a difference.”,

according to Cathy Calvin. We make a difference by showing that each one of us has the capability

and the heart to share our blessings to others who are in need. This guides me to become a better

person, that I should not be thrifty and be generous enough to others.

E. Avarice, one of the seven deadly sins discussed in class is related in this activity. Avarice is the

extreme greed for money and wealth. With avarice, you could have everything in the world and it

all still would not be enough. Avarice and Happiness never saw each other. We must put in mind

that being greedy is never good and it will never do good to a person. Being greedy means that

you are kind to no one, but is most unkind to himself. We must share to others whatever we have

to help them to survive every day. Because being kind to oneself means sharing what you have as

showing love to others. We must also remember that whatever we do to the least of the people we

do it to our creator.
