The document is a solution to a geometry problem involving a quadrilateral ABCD inscribed in a circle. The diagonals intersect at point E, and point F is on segment AC such that the angles BFC and BAD are equal. The problem asks to determine the ratio of BE/DE given that angle BAD is twice the measure of angle DFC.
The solution shows that triangles ABD and BCF are similar, making BCF isosceles. It also shows that FG bisects angle BFC and is the perpendicular bisector of BC. Therefore, BC = 2CG and triangles CDF and CGF are congruent, implying CG = CD. Using properties of an angle bisector, the ratio

Problem’s statement: ABCD is a quadrilateral inscribed in a circle, with
AB=AD. The diagonals intersect at E. F is a point on AC such that 𝐵𝐸 ∠BFC=∠BAD. If ∠BAD=2∠DFC, determine . 𝐷𝐸 Diagram: Page 2 of 2
Solution: (I will follow the hints that I posted on AoPS)
ABCD is a cyclic quadrilateral so ∠BCA=∠ADB and ∠ABD=∠ACD (you can prove that by yourself) Moreover ABD is an isosceles triangle with AB= AD so ∠ADB=∠ABD. Hence ∠BCA =∠ACD. That leads to CA (or CE) is the angle bisector of ∠BCD. We can also prove that two triangles ABD and BCF are similar triangles (two pairs of congruent angles). Hence BCF is also an isosceles triangle with BF = CF because ∠BFC=∠BAD. Draw the angle bisector of ∠BFC, which intersects BC at point G. Hence ∠BFG=∠CFG=∠DFC. Moreover, because BCF is also an isosceles triangle with BF = CF so FG also plays the role as a perpendicular bisector of segment BC. That’s why BC=CG or BC = 2CG. We can now prove that CDF and CGF are two congruent triangles (ASA) hence CG=CD. That leads to BC = 2CD. In triangle BCD, CE is the angle bisector of ∠BCD so due to the Angle Bisector’s Theorem, we have the following ratios: 𝐵𝐶 𝐵𝐸 = =2 𝐶𝐷 𝐷𝐸 𝐵𝐸 Hence = 2 𝐷𝐸
