Sensitive?

Metal-free restorations for sensitive persons!

Sensitive?
Just as the sensitive and delicate mimosa plant shrinks upon slightest contact, the human
Mimosa (Mimosa pudica) organism responds to various materials and stress it is exposed to.

The number of allergic diseases has increased continously during the past few years.
According to the „Ärzteverband Deutscher Allergologen (Medical Association of German
Allergologists) probably about one third of the population of Germany suffers from an allergy;
according to the Charité in Berlin, every other individual may be affected by an allergy.

In case of an allergy, the immune system responds too strongly to harmless environmental
substances. The defense system of the body detects foreign substances and fights against
them. The body of an allergic person, however, also classifies substances to be foreign bod-
ies, which are actually entirely harmless.

An allergy is not a disease but a symptom

since - in contrast to a normal immune re-
action - the allergic reaction does not result
in the elimination of the specific cause or in
protection against incidences. As a rule, an
allergy persists only as long as the allergic
person is exposed to the substance trigger-
ing the allergy.

2
Allergy alert!
Environmental pollution, modern ways of life and various types of stress lead to ever-
increasing sensitization to a variety of substances. Depending on the allergy, the type and
extent of intolerance reactions may vary considerably.

Allergic reactions may cause skin rash, pain, shortness in breath, dizziness, nausea or itch-
ing.

Allergic reactions to dental restorations made of metal occur more and more frequently.

3
Health starts in the mouth
Metal alloys such as gold, chrome cobalt and amalgam are some of the most important ma-
terials due to their excellent material properties. The strong increase in allergies and increas-
ing number of symptoms of intolerances to metals and electrosensitivity, however, led to a
change in thinking when it comes to selecting and using dental materials.
Metal-free restorations are more and more requested and used.

Yet allergies and intolerances may also be triggered by chemical

constituents, such as monomers, methyl methacrylates, perox-
ides and numerous others, which are contained in resins. In this
context, it is essential to prefer biocompatible materials.

Relief ensured with ...
The modern injection moulding technique allows to fabricate metal-free restorations and to
do without harmful substances since the thermoplastic materials do not contain any toxic and
allergenic constituents.

The injection moulding technique or, more accurately, injection moulding is a procedure in
which a heated high-performance thermoplastic material is injected into a mould cavity at
very high pressure. Previously, this technique could only be employed using very large in-
dustrial machines. Today very powerful and compact injection moulding machines are avail-
able for dental laboratories thanks to continuous development.

bredent GmbH & Co.KG (Senden/Germany) is the first manufacturer who succeeded in de-
veloping an injection moulding system for the dental laboratory. This system enables dental
technicians to process five advanced thermoplastic materials to obtain metal-free and highly
biocompatible dental restorations.

Polyan IC

is a denture base material which will impress you:

• The material is processed without using monormers or allergy-triggering catalysts. A

base material for added comfort.
• Thanks to special processing, highly densified bases are obtained, which can be easily
and quickly polished to high luster.
• Only high-luster dentures are resistant to the formation of plaque and discoloration.
• The material density avoids absorption of water and reduces discoloration.

edition

Still ridiculed some years ago - in demand today - the flex-

ible partial denture. bre.flex / bre.flex 2nd edition is an entirely
monomer-free denture base material for almost unbreakable
and flexible partial dentures.

Reliable processing in the modern injection moulding systems

allows to fabricate slender partial and temporary dentures.

Give yourself a treat and choose highly biocompatible materials

for your health.

Clasps and

Bio Dentaplast

Why use metal if a tooth-colored material is available?

The exceptional behavior and the mechanical properties

allow the use of Bio Dentaplast in numerous areas of restor-
ative dentistry.

Whether metal-free, tooth-colored clasps and retention elements,

robust long-term temporaries without complex reinforcement or
extremely thin, opaque occlusal appliances - Bio Dentaplast en-
sures esthetic and metal-free restorations with superior comfort
of wearing.

Crowns and bridges
bre.dentan HP

Crowns and most bridges are fixed prosthetic restorations. Unlike removable dentures,
which can be cleaned every day, crowns and bridges are cemented to the existing teeth or
to implants that can only be removed by the dentist.

Major aspects of bre.dentan HP are superior esthetics and biocompatibility.

Bio XS

After the market launch of Bio XS in 2003, this material has set
new standards regarding „metal-free restorations“.

Previously, ceramic materials were not suited for the fabrication

of all types of dental restorations. Bio XS, however, paved the
way. Frameworks that are entirely free from metal, combined
with esthetically perfected veneers, provide the possibility of fab-
ricating ultra-light, metal-free restorations.
