1) Can you incorporate any of his lessons from Leadership Lessons of

Gregg Popovich into your situations at work, school, family or personal life?
Are you Pounding the Rock?

One of the biggest takeaways I got from the “Leadership Lessons of Gregg
Popovich” was that “There is no skipping steps. You must put in the work”. One way I
am, have and will be incorporating this in my life is in school. We start to learn from a
very young age at 5 when we are first enrolled in kindergarten and we spend 8 years to
get to high school just to spend another 4 there. I was lucky enough to be able to come
to college after high school where I am on my third year and with one more to go. Me
getting to where I am today did not happen overnight however and it was not easy. I
have woken up thousands of times early in the morning for school in order to pass to
the next grade, the next level, the next step. This is what Popovich talks about when he
says there is no skipping steps. Yeah there are thousands of kids that skip grades, yet
that doesn’t mean they did not put in the work. I myself as all these people have broken
our backs putting in the work and have been “pounding the rock”

2) From the book Management Idea of Nick Saban:

Share your thoughts regarding "Vision and Process".
Are you spending your time, or are you investing your time?
When reading the Management idea of Nick Saban there are many ideas to pull from
the text that relate to vision and process. Vision can be one of the most important things
in your life when it comes to success and striving for what you want to achieve, if you
have no vision it can be hard to see the bigger picture of what you want to do with your
life. Your vision can drive you to do what needs to be done to get to where you want to
get. This isn’t the only important thing though, the process that you take is vital when it
comes to choosing the right steps for you. If you have no process then plans can easily
fall apart or be left behind, without a process it can be difficult to stay focused on your
overall vision. In the grand scheme of things, I feel that I have been investing my time
more than spending it. when it comes to schoolwork and extracurricular activities, I feel I
am putting forth my best effort in and out of the classroom and working to benefit myself
in the future.
3) From the book The Team Building Strategies of Steve Kerr
How and what are you doing to prepare yourself for your next position, or future
career? What could you be doing to enhance your preparation?
How do you balance your commitment to your job or school, and the rest of
your life? What could you do different?
The Turnaround strategies of Jim Harbaugh
I am preparing for my future career by investing in myself by getting an
education and earning a degree. I have also worked several jobs throughout my
educational process that have thought me many lessons that I am sure will help me in
my future endeavors. Some of these lessons include, having patience is a virtue, there
is no substitute for hard work, dedication is crucial and to take advantage of
opportunities when they arrive your way. Something I could be doing to enhance my
preparation could be getting an internship. Internships are great because they show you
a little more about the field work in whatever it is you intern for other that just the theory
side which you learn in school. I keep a fair balance from school to my life by doing
what I need to do to put myself in the position I want to be educationally, but also
keeping in mind that I am not going to be on this earth forever. What I mean by this, is
that I do not believe that money is everything in life and so try to live my life accordingly.
I do my work and at the same time I enjoy myself and do not let my work take over my
life or shorten it by any means. Something I could do different is trying to find new paths
of getting where I want to be that I have not searched before. I can try to open myself up
to any opportunities that have interest to me and that will also benefit my future.

4) From the book The Turnaround Strategies of Jim Harbaugh

Discuss the following as it relates to you:
Transparency and Accountability
Incentives
Constant Improvement
The Turnaround strategies of Jim Harbaugh can be seen as an informational and
inspirational book that shows how dedication and determination can lead to great
things. Harbaugh changed many football programs around such as the San Francisco
49ers and more recently the University of Michigan Wolverines. When it comes to me
the words transparency and accountability mean a lot, I like to think of myself as an
accountable person when it comes to my work and social life. Transparency is also vital
because it helps promote accountability. when it comes to incentives, I think of my work
life, I am constantly looking for what I can do to better myself in the future and
sometimes incentives help you do that by giving you something to work toward. Lastly
the words “Constant improvement” are very important to me because no matter what it
is I am working for or what position I am currently in, I am always working to improve
myself just like Jim Harbaugh and many others.
