THE LONELY DOG WITH ONE FRIEND

One day there was a dog, the dog had

one friend and she wanted to have some

more friends but she couldn’t because no

friend wanted to be her friend because

they thought she was gross and they hurt

her feelings. She was so sad when she got

home and she cried.


THE FOX AND THE GRAPES

On a hot summer day, a fox comes

upon an orchard and sees a bunch of

ripened grapes. It thinks: “Just what I

need to quench my thirst.” It moves back

few paces, runs, and jumps but falls short

of reaching the grapes. It tries in different

ways to reach the bunch of grapes, but in

vain. It finally gives up, and says to

himself “I am sure they are sour anyway.”


TWO CATS AND A MONKEY

After a feast, two cats see a piece of

cake and start fighting for it. A monkey

sees this as an opportunity for gain and

offers to help them. The monkey divides

the cake into two parts but shakes its

head saying they are unequal. He takes a

bite of one piece and then the other, but

still finds them unequal. He continues

doing so until there is no more cake left,

leaving the poor little cats disappointed.


ANT AND DOVE

An Ant went to the bank of a river to

quench its thirst, and being carried away

by the rush of the stream, was on the

point of drowning. A dove sitting on a

tree over hanging the water plucked a

leaf and let it fall into the stream.


THE POWER OF MOTHER’S LOVE

This story is a little long but well worth

the time to read. It perfectly illustrates

not only the amazing power of Love, but

also the truly inspiring power of Touch.

When doctors told Carolyn Isbister that

her tiny premature daughter would die

within 20 minutes, she had to prepare

herself for the worst.


THE LION AND THE BOAR

It was a hot summer day. A lion and a


boar reach a small water body for a drink.
They begin arguing and fighting about
who should drink first. After a while, they
are tired and stop for breath, when they
notice vultures above. Soon they realize
that the vultures are waiting for one or
both of them to fall, to feast on them. The
lion and the boar then decide that it was
best to make up and be friends than fight
and become food for vultures. They drink
the water together and go their ways
after.
FROG NUMBER TEN

Mother frog was very happy with her


ten little green frogs. They all swam
about. “Come along, jump into pond, frog
number ten,” said his mother. But frog
number ten was afraid of jumping. “Look
at your little brothers and sisters!” cried
his mother, “and the ducks, too. They all
jump. Try jumping from the water lily leaf
there.” Frog number ten screwed up his
courage and jumped. Splash! “Look,
Mummy,” he cried. “I’ll jump again now.
Jumping is fun!”
THE WIND AND THE SUN

One day, the wind and the sun were


arguing about who was the strongest. “It
is clear that I am strongest” said the wind.
“When I blow, branches break off the
trees, and the waves beat on the shore”.
“That’s nothing” said the sun. “I am
much stronger than that”. Just then, they
saw a man wearing a heavy coat. “We will
both try to make this man take off his
coat” said the sun “Whoever succeeds
will be the strongest”.
A BIG APPLE

“What a big apple! I will try that apple.

Woof, woof.”

Along comes a duck. It sees the red

apple, “How do apple taste? I’ll have a

try. Big red apple, down, down, down.”

Just then a bird flies near. It sees the

apple and says, “Ah, apple, my favourite.”

It eats the big red apple up.


THE WOLF AND THE LAMB

A hungry wolf was once drinking

water at a stream. He caught sight of a

lamb drinking water far down. He wanted

to eat it up. He ran up to it and said very

angrily, “why are you making the water

muddy? Don’t you see that I am drinking

it?”
