IV. DESCRIPTIVE NOTES FOR PROCEDURE:

1. Idetification (Carbonate):

1 gm sample + 25 ml, recently boiled and cool water  the solution is not
more than slightly turbid, and becomes clear on the addition of 1 ml of
hydrochloric acid.
