Note that use of the SCP 240 is unnecessary in an isolated bus application when using Basler voltage regulators and the reactive differential com: pensation (parallel cross current compensation) interconnecting loop. In such an isolated bus system KVAR load division is obtained automatically. DESCRIPTIOI ‘The SCP 240 KVAR Controller senses generator output voltage and current and, based upon these inputs, provides an output toa motor ‘operated control (MOC) to raise or lower the voltage regulator set point, Generator field excitation is correspondingly changed to ‘obtain the desired KVAR load. The SCP 240 can be preprogrammed to take on the desired KVAR load. A dither circuit with an adjustable output level is provided to overcome the motor stiction by gently pulsing the motor-operated control. When only minor KVAR cor- rections are required, the KVAR Controller supplies @ reduced voltage to the MOC to minimize motor stress.
