Pastor’s Notes
“Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more
shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!”
Romans 5:9
In the month of March, we are going through the Season of
Lent. From Ash Wednesday (Feb. 26th), we go through 40 days
before the Easter (April 12th), to reflect on our Savior Jesus
Christ who came to us to live among us, to die for our sin and
to conquer death to provide new life that is in risen Christ.
Jesus Christ came to us to reveal Himself to the world that He
is God and He is our Savior. From the first miracle that Jesus
performed turning water into wine to the last breath on the
cross, Jesus revealed fully human and fully God together. But
Jesus never acted on his own but always seeking God’s will
and God’s glory. Also, Jesus never abused his authority and his
power while he was on the earth. Everything Jesus did was to
reveal God’s plan and God’s glory.
As we go through the season of Lent, this is a time to step back
from everything that we are doing and take time to think of
Christ in our life, by reorganizing our priority and what we are
doing to reveal God’s glory in our daily life. God sent Jesus to
us as a gift to resolve all that was broken in this world. God
sends us out to the world to provide the saving grace to the
world. During this month, we participate in revealing His glory.
Christ has died, Christ is risen, and Christ will come again.

News From The Session
What does Lent mean to you? Do you fast, give up some
special food (think chocolate), commit to more time reading
the Bible, or pray more? Whatever you do, consider this as a
time to think of Jesus and his suffering love for you and focus
on His saving grace in your life. We began the Lent season
with our Wednesday night supper followed by an Ash
Wednesday worship service on February 26. As we move
through Lent we will be preparing for Holy Week services
beginning on Palm Sunday, April 5, then Maundy Thursday,
and on April 12, Easter morning worship.
We love Baptisms. As portrayed on one of our beautiful
stained-glass windows, Jesus said “Permit the children to
come unto me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God
belongs to such as these”. On February 9th, Sadie Brown,
daughter of Katie and Tony Brown was Baptized. We are
planning the Baptism of John Bozik, son of Allyson and Brian
Bozik on Easter. Remember that in their Baptism we the
congregation assume the responsibility for nurturing the
children in their Christian upbringing.
Other items to note are Girl Scout Sunday on March 8th which
is also the beginning of the Daylight Savings Time. Gary
Newman is leading our collection of coats for needy adults
with a box in the choir room. There was some water damage
to wood in the crawl space under the Manse due to a leaking
faucet. Thanks to Doug Stephenson and Gary Newman for
quickly getting this repaired. Doug Stephenson has also
initiated looking at options for installing an electronic
message sign out front. He has found some simple and
relatively inexpensive signs. More work needs to be done on
installation location, foundation, mounting, etc. before we
proceed. Talk to Doug for more information. We continue to
pray for those in our congregation who struggle with physical
and mental ailments.

Thanks to everyone contributing to coat drive!
Two deliveries of approximately 20 coats and 25 shirts were
made and will continue to make the deliveries as collected.
Boxes are located by the door in fellowship hall and by the

Session Members
On Sunday, February 2nd, Doug Stephenson and Gary
Newman were installed as new Session members. We pray for
Doug and Gary as they join in the Session and serve and also
pray for the all the leaders in the Session for them to be able
to serve as one in Christ.
