DAILY LESSON PLAN (DLP)

Teacher: Divine Pearl F. Rosario Learning Area: Mathematics

Teaching Date/Time: February 9, 2018 Quarter: Fourth Quarter
I. OBJECTIVES
a. Content Standard: The learners should be able to demonstrate
understanding of key concepts of geometry of shapes and sizes and
geometric relationships.
b. Performance Standard: The learners should be able to create models
of plan figures involving sides and angles of a polygon.
c. Learning Competency: The learners should be able to classify the
different kinds of angles.
d. Learning Objectives: The learners should be able to identify the
different kinds of angles.
II. CONTENT: Classification of Angles
III. LEARNING RESOURCES

IV. PROCEDURE:

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Elicit
 Let us all stand for a prayer.  One student will lead the prayer.
 Good Morning Class!  Good Morning Maam!
 Checking of attendance.  Student will raise hand/response
once called.
 Review/Recall what is the  An angle is a figure formed by two
meaning of angle? rays with a common endpoint.
B. Engage
 I have here an analog clock. I
will twist the knob on the
clock that controls the hands
and I will set the clock to the
different times. And I will call
randomly to draw out the
hands of the clock in the
board that represents the
time mention.
 Do you understand?  Yes Maam
 3:00
 11:00
 4:45
C. Explore
 Tell the students that the
measure of an angle is the
number which indicates how
large the opening between
the sides of the angle is.
 What is the measure in units  Degree
of the angle?
 What is the device used in  Protractor
measuring angles?
 Let’s use the hands of the
clock.
 In the figure 1, let’s use the
two rays. The clock reads
3:00. Let’s measure it using
the protractor.

 What is the measure of the  90°

angle?
 What do you call the angle  Right Angle
that measures 90° ?
 Ok very good. How about in
the figure 2.

 What is the measure of the  20°

angle?
 What do you call the angle  Acute Angle
that measure 20°?
 Ok good! How about the last
figure.

 What is the measure of the  150°

angle?
 What do you call the angle  Obtuse Angle
that measure 150° ?
D. Explain
 What is the unit measure of  Degree
angles?
 What is the device use to  Protractor
measure angles?
 What are the classifications of  Right angle, acute angles and
angles? obtuse angle.
 What is right angle?  Right angle is an angle whose
measure is 90°.
 What is acute angle?  Acute angle is an angle whose
 What is obtuse angle? measure is greater than 0° but less
than 90°.
 Obtuse angle is an angle whose
measure is greater than 90° but less
than 180°.
E. Elaborate
 Hunt or find some angles in
the classroom, school or even
in the surroundings. Then
write or fill up the chart in
the given sheet.

V. EVALUATION
Use the figure to answer each of the questions.
1. What is the measure
of each angle?
2. Determine if it is
right angles, acute
angle or obtuse
angle.

b. <2 h. < AOD
c. <3 i. <COE
d. <4 j. <BOD
e. <AOB
f. <AOC

VI. EXTEND

Use a ruler to create the letter of your first name. Then, with the
ruler, draw random lines within their letter and color as they wish. After that fins
as many angles as you want and measure each angle. Then determine what kind
of angle it is.
