FAMILY WEEKEND
Committee 2020

Welcome to this year’s Family Weekend team! We are so excited that you have
chosen to join this amazing group of people in the planning of one of the coolest
weekends of the year. Planning is just beginning, but we are already so excited to see
everything this team will accomplish over the next several months!
Family Weekend, as many of you have experienced, is a special time for Cobbers
to bring together those they love and appreciate to celebrate what Concordia means to
them. This can involve inviting parents, grandparents, siblings, or friends to campus. It
can mean spending time with the support systems they’ve built here at Concordia. It can
even be a Cobber stepping out of their comfort zone to create a new family here on
campus. Whatever Family Weekend means someone, we are here to help them have the
best weekend possible!
As part of the Family Weekend committee, your role is to assist in the planning,
promotion, and executing of the weekend’s events. To assist in this planning, our team is
split into six subcommittees: Breakfast, Friday Fun Night/Family College, Tailgating,
Ice Cream Social/Family Expo, Showcase, and Marketing/Registration. Our jobs, as
your executive team, are to be there as your contact for any questions, concerns, or ideas
you may come across. We are always here to help, so feel free to reach out! In addition,
our team will work closely with the Alumni Office and Homecoming committee to make
everything work as smoothly as possible!
This year, we have chosen to put all our information online, so watch your Gmail
accounts this week for all the documents we will be sharing with you. Please read over
the old end notes from your subcommittee, but remember that we want your new,
creative ideas as well! This Family Weekend will be what you make it, so let’s work
together to make it a-maize-ing (sorry all, I had to slip at least one corn pun in)! We
can’t wait to see everything this awesome team will accomplish for Family Weekend
2020! Roll cobbs!
