Introduction

Several times each year an academic institution is concerned with

the process of choosing times for each classes and then assigning
instructors, rooms, and students to these classes. Typically, a school
has enough problems to cope with without getting bogged down in
scheduling concerns. Like it or not, a school cannot function without a
feasible schedule. Ironically, many schools do take for granted those
scheduling variables involving time. Perhaps it is because of the many
human factors also involves scheduling.

“Time is the one resource that we can’t buy, but we often

waste it or use it ineffectively. Scheduling helps you think about what
you want to achieve in a day, week or month, and it keeps you on
track to accomplish your goals.”

Scheduling is an important tool for time management.

Apparently, each one of us had set schedules on what to do on our
daily concerns. When we do it correctly we will maximize our time and
decrease the amount of stress we have. Clarifying those schedules
carefully, we can obtain more valuable things that can help our lives
become successful as we wanted to be.

Time management is important, indeed. Scheduling is

the process of arranging, controlling and optimizing work and
workloads in a production process or manufacturing process.
Integration of Electronic Data for Student’s Load and Schedule
of Classes enhancing a well Systematic Enrollment at GSC
College Department aims to help students locate their designated
subjects after enrolling. This system must be implemented in order
2

that swapping of rooms, lacking of classrooms, and availability of the

teachers and students will be clarified as soon as regular classes
starts. Students wanted to enhance their capabilities by having
teachers as their mentors. By loading maximum subjects that a certain
course required, students must have basis of their day to day tasks.

The system had complete schedules for every student and

teachers accordingly. The system will be secured and only those
personnel who have account can access. Students will just be going to
go to the assigned person towards their class schedule. It will still be a
great help for the students for they can ask the scheduler and can
have copies on their schedules accordingly.

Indefinite room schedule of the students will be avoided if

the system will be implemented. Subject Loads will be easy for the
entire subject that a student may take is accessible. Teachers will not
be going to find where possibly her students might be for she and the
students already know when and where will they meet.

Significance of the Study

The researcher prepared this system for the Institution to make the
Scheduling record in incoming and outgoing process.

This system will be a great help to the following:

6

To the School. The students can locate their specific subject enrolled
and precise rooms they have. Students will be at ease not minding
where will be their next room to use for they already have their final
and fixed schedule. It will not be hard for them to find which room are
available from time to time.

To the Teachers. Same goes as for the teachers. It will not be hard to
sustain their rooms for the students because it was being scheduled
already. The class won’t just have class anywhere because there were
no rooms assigned. Partially, there is but when they went there, the
room is taken already by other class. Teachers will have a fixed
classroom intended for their classes in their specialized subjects
simultaneously.

To the Property Custodian. Time savings- the computerized Stock

Inventory System can give a benefit towards the custodian by keeping
track of which products you have on hand or pulled out, the custodian
save the effort on having to do a stock inventory recount to ensure the
records are accurate.

To the Future Researcher. Since the system has its limitation for
the future researchers, this will serve as their guide for developing and
improving the system.

The literature and studies cited in this chapter tackle the

different concept, understanding, and ideas, generalization or
conclusions and different development related to the study of
scheduling system from the developing the project. Those that were
also included in this helps in familiarizing information that are relevant
and similar to the present study.

Theoretical Background

This research study anchored on the concept that integrating an

electronic data for student’s load and schedule of classes must be
considered in the school to provide a well systematic enrollment for
Golden Success College (GSC) department, an electronic data that
collects all the information of each college student studying at GSC.

© Arlie Russell Hochschild and Norbert Elias In sociology and

anthropology, time discipline is the general name given to social and
economic rules, conventions, customs, and expectations governing the
measurement of time, the social currency and awareness of time
measurements, and people's expectations concerning the observance
of these customs by others. The use of time is an important issue in
understanding human behavior, education, and travel behavior. Time
use research is a developing field of study. The question concerns how
time is allocated across a number of activities (such as time spent at
home, at work, shopping, etc.). Time use changes with technology, as
the television or the Internet created new opportunities to use time in
different ways. However, some aspects of time use are relatively stable
over long periods of time, such as the amount of time spent traveling
to work, which despite major changes in transport, has been observed
to be about 20-30 minutes one-way for a large number of cities over a
long period of time. This has led to the disputed time budget
hypothesis.
11

Time management is the organization of tasks or events by first

estimating how much time a task will take to be completed, when it
must be completed, and then adjusting events that would interfere
with its completion so that completion is reached in the appropriate
amount of time. Calendars and day planners are common examples of
time management tools.

Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900), a German radical philosopher

once pronounced that, “what is normal to a spider is chaos to a fly”
therefore time exist in the context of a spider and a fly, time is neither
actual nor objective, the context in which time exist is a social one and
not natural and it is therefore based on human perceptions, human
perceptions are different due to different cultural and religious
groundings. Time is a fundamental social balance of our consciousness
upon which different beliefs rest; it’s in fact a kind of a fastest astral
imagination of humanity that if cats and dogs were to be subjected to
would rather prefer to go mad.

The reason that time is perceived differently in different

geographical, cultural and religious contexts among others is the
primary indication that time itself does not exist actually, actuality is
objective and not subjective therefore time and its meaning does not
exist in the actual world.

The formations of social tools such as calendars to control time are

social conceptions and laws to control the existence of humanity.

Time controls our minds such that we become frustrated when time is
up to do something, this bring us to the perceived understanding that
time is linear, divisible and consumable, i am inclined to think that time
is not linear but our understanding of time is very so.
12

Time past up to the present and which serves as the researcher’s

guide in

is a universal perception controlled by social laws which controls

human interactions. Some argue that time – especially in Africa – is
Eurocentric, it is our perceptions of time that are Eurocentric, time
itself is independent of adjectives, it is humanity that made time
adjectival in order to suit our linguistic expressions.

According to Bacala and Reano (2010) An Online Scheduling

System was proposed to replace the manual searching in Cavite
Maritime Institute in order to advance an organized flow of transaction
and ease of work concerned on how the manual searching performs
throughout the institution’s operations. The Administrator has the right
to update, add and delete records at the same time tracing the
constraints and evaluation of then manual system essential. Online-
based schedule system also provides the users to view their schedule
as long as the user or the student is enrolled in the institution an also
connected through the internet.

Based on Harvent School (2011), Harvent School in Dagupan City,

composed of elementary and High school level. The school puts
premium top system. The Scheduling process is the initial stage in
gathering bon fide accurate student information necessary to establish
student permanent records. The system provides the access to the
students to see their school records. The system provides the access to
the students to see their school records such as students’ personal
information and grades. The system will work only in their facility; the
school principal serves as the admin and the school also provides their
top security to the system to avoid information leakage.

According to Aquino (2011), Importance of computer application is

increasing day by day. In the latest decades of the millennium winning
organization are those which are willing to integrate business strategy
and computer technology in plying their respective trades. The use of
computer information technology results for them to be able to
develop products fast and make decisions fast, ability to have fluid

organization structures, able to cope with the demanding work force

and external environment by the rapid development of innovative
approaches and lastly using information system in the way of
implementing a scheduling system. This results for them to search
more accurately and easy.

Based on Bohol island State University (2012-2013), Study

tested the functionality of Automated class scheduling system in terms
of speed, data handling, security, scheduling, stability and adaptability
in making the class schedules. This study was conducted in Bohol
Island State University Main Campus, Tagbilaran City during the
second semester of school year 2012-2013. The respondents of this
study were the 6 expert instructors in the field of computer
programming. They tested and evaluated the functionality of the
program in terms of its design, and accuracy, data handling security
and adaptability of the software. Separate set of questioners were
given to two groups of respondents.

Based on the researcher (2007), a web based-schedule viewing

system for Golden Success College (GSC) main campus in Guadalupe
was developed to help its students search in a more efficient way
without hassles. It is with the web-based viewing schedule for GSC that
this style of searching at GSC. By logging on to GSC website. On can
register and search the information of the faculty for a school year.
With these the student has the right to view his/her room, subject and
instructor, because the user created an account via registration. Only
the school-admin can create their student account, the registration of
accounts is only created inside the school.

CHAPTER III

Technicality of the study

Computerized subject loading and scheduling system is

composed of hardware, software and network that made the system
usable. In this point on, the devices and installer that have been used
in the making of the study will be discussed.

Visual Studio 2010 .Net Framework 4 is an Integrated

Development Environment (IDE) was developed by the company
named Microsoft. It is license Freemium and can be downloaded at
visualstudio.com. On 12 April 2010, Microsoft released Visual Studio
2010, codenamed Dev10, and .NET Framework 4. The Visual Studio
2010 IDE was redesigned which, according to Microsoft, clears the UI
organization and "reduces clutter and complexity." The new IDE better
supports multiple document windows and floating tool windows, while
offering better multi-monitor support. The IDE shell has been rewritten
using the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), whereas the
internals have been redesigned using Managed Extensibility
Framework (MEF) that offers more extensibility points than previous
versions of the IDE that enabled add-ins to modify the behavior of the
IDE.

Microsoft Visual Studio is used to develop computer programs as well

as websites, web apps, web services and mobile apps. It can be both
native code and manage code. Visual studio uses Microsoft software
development platforms such as Windows API, Windows Forms,
Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Store and Microsoft
Silverlight. It includes a code igniter supporting IntelliSense (the code
completion component) as well as code refactoring. The integrated
debugger works both as a source-level debugger and a machine-level
debugger. Other built-in tools include a code profiler, forms designer
17

for building GUI applications, web designer, class designer, and

database schema designer. It accepts plug-ins that enhance the
functionality at almost every level – including adding support for
source control systems (like Subversion) and adding new toolsets like
editors and visual designers for domain-specific languages or toolsets
for other aspects of the software development lifecycle.

Visual Studio supports 36 different programming languages and allows

the code editor and debugger to support (to varying degrees) nearly
any programming language, provided a language-specific service exits.
Built-in languages include C, C++/CLI, Visual Basic .Net, C#, F#,
JavaScript, TypeScript, XML, XSLT, HTML, and CSS. Support for other
languages such as Python, Ruby, Node.js and M among others is via
plug-ins. Java (and J#) were supported in the past. The most basic
edition of Visual Studio, the Community edition, is available free of
charge.

Visual Studio does not support any programming language, solution or

tool intrinsically, instead it allows the plugging of functionality coded as
a VSPackage. When installed, the functionality is available as a
Service. The IDE provides three services: SVsSolution, which provides
the ability to enumerate projects and solutions; SVsUIShell, which
provides windowing and UI functionality (including tabs, toolbars and
tool windows); and SVsShell, which deals with registration of
VSPackages. In addition, the IDE is also responsible for coordinating
and enabling communication between services. All editors, designers,
project types and other tools are implemented as VSPackages. Visual
Studio uses COM to access the VSPackages. The Visual Studio SDK also
includes the Managed Package Framework (MPF), which is a set of
managed wrappers around the COM-interfaces that allow the Packages
to be written in any CLI compliant language. However, MPF does not
provide all the functionality exposed by the Visual Studio COM
18

interfaces. The services can then be consumed for creation of other

packages, which add functionality to the Visual Studio IDE.

Visual Studio does not include any source control support built in but it
defines two alternative ways for source control systems to integrate
with the IDE. A Source Control VSPackage can provide its own
customized user interface. In contrast, a source control plugin using
the MSSCCI (Microsoft Source Code Control Interface) provides a set of
functions that are used to implement various source control
functionality, with a standard Visual Studio user interface. MSSCCI was
first used to integrate Visual SourceSafe with Visual Studio 6.0 but was
later opened up via the Visual Studio SDK. Visual Studio .NET 2002
used MSSCCI 1.1, and Visual Studio .NET 2003 used MSSCCI 1.2. Visual
Studio 2005, 2008 and 2010 use MSSCCI Version 1.3, which adds
support for rename and delete propagation as well as asynchronous
opening.

Visual Studio supports running multiple instances of the environment

(each with its own set of VSPackages). The instances use different
registry hives (see MSDN's definition of the term "registry hive" in the
sense used here) to store their configuration state and are
differentiated by their AppId (Application ID). The instances are
launched by an AppId-specific .exe that selects the AppId, sets the root
hive and launches the IDE. VSPackages registered for one AppId are
integrated with other VSPackages for that AppId. The various product
editions of Visual Studio are created using the different AppIds. The
Visual Studio Express edition products are installed with their own
AppIds, but the Standard, Professional and Team Suite products share
the same AppId. Consequently, one can install the Express editions
side-by-side with other editions, unlike the other editions which update
the same installation. The professional edition includes a superset of
the VSPackages in the standard edition and the team suite includes a
19

superset of the VSPackages in both other editions. The AppId system is

leveraged by the Visual Studio Shell in Visual Studio 2008.

The Visual Studio code editor also supports setting bookmarks in code
for quick navigation. Other navigational aids include collapsing code
blocks and incremental search, in addition to normal text search and
regex search. The code editor also includes a multi-item clipboard and
a task list. The code editor supports code snippets, which are saved
templates for repetitive code and can be inserted into code and
customized for the project being worked on. A management tool for
code snippets is built in as well. These tools are surfaced as floating
windows which can be set to automatically hide when unused or
docked to the side of the screen. The Visual Studio code editor also
supports code refactoring including parameter reordering, variable and
method renaming, interface extraction and encapsulation of class
members inside properties, among others.

Visual Studio includes a debugger that works both as a source-level

debugger and as a machine-level debugger. It works with both
managed code as well as native code and can be used for debugging
applications written in any language supported by Visual Studio.

Visual Studio includes a host of visual designers to aid in the development of

applications. These tools include:

Windows Forms Designer

The Windows Forms designer is used to build GUI applications using

Windows Forms. Layout can be controlled by housing the controls
inside other containers or locking them to the side of the form.
Controls that display data (like textbox, list box and grid view) can be
bound to data sources like databases or queries. Data-bound controls
can be created by dragging items from the Data Sources window onto
20

a design surface. The UI is linked with code using an event-driven

programming model. The designer generates either C# or VB.NET code
for the application.

WPF Designer

The WPF designer, codenamed Cider, was introduced with Visual

Studio 2008. Like the Windows Forms designer, it supports the drag
and drop metaphor. It is used to author user interfaces targeting
Windows Presentation Foundation. It supports all WPF functionality
including data binding and automatic layout management. It generates
XAML code for the UI. The generated XAML file is compatible with
Microsoft Expression Design, the designer-oriented product. The XAML
code is linked with code using a code-behind model.

Web designer/development

Visual Studio also includes a web-site editor and designer that allows
web pages to be authored by dragging and dropping widgets. It is used
for developing ASP.NET applications and supports HTML, CSS and
JavaScript. It uses a code-behind model to link with ASP.NET code.
From Visual Studio 2008 onwards, the layout engine used by the web
designer is shared with Microsoft Expression Web. There is also
ASP.NET MVC support for MVC technology as a separate download and
ASP.NET Dynamic Data project available from Microsoft.

Class designer

The Class Designer is used to author and edit the classes (including its
members and their access) using UML modeling. The Class Designer
can generate C# and VB.NET code outlines for the classes and
methods. It can also generate class diagrams from hand-written
classes.
21

Data designer

The data designer can be used to graphically edit database schemas,

including typed tables, primary and foreign keys and constraints. It can
also be used to design queries from the graphical view.

Mapping designer

From Visual Studio 2008 onwards, the mapping designer is used by

LINQ to SQL to design the mapping between database schemas and
the classes that encapsulate the data. The new solution from ORM
approach, ADO.NET Entity Framework, replaces and improves the old
technology.

Windows 10 is a version of the windows NT operating system. It is a

personal computer operating system developed and released by
Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It
was released on July 29, 2015. It is the first version of Windows that
receives ongoing feature updates. Devices in enterprise environments
can receive these updates at a slower pace, or use long-term support
milestones that only receive critical updates, such as security patches,
over their ten-year lifespan of extended support.

Windows 10 harmonizes the user experience and functionality between

different classes of device, and addresses shortcomings in the user
interface that were introduced in Windows 8. The Windows Runtime
app ecosystem was revised into the Universal Windows Platform
(UWP). These universal apps are made to run across multiple platforms
and device classes, including smartphones, tablets, Xbox One
consoles, and other compatible Windows 10 devices. On Windows 10,
Windows Store serves as a unified storefront for apps, music, films, TV
series and ebooks. Windows 10 also allows web apps and desktop
22

software using either Win32 or .NET Framework to be packaged for

distribution on the Windows Store.

Windows 10 incorporates multi-factor authentication technology based

upon standards developed by the FIDO Alliance. The operating system
includes improved support for biometric authentication through the
Windows Hello platform. Devices with supported cameras (requiring
infrared illumination, such as Intel RealSense) allow users to log in with
iris or face recognition, similarly to Kinect. Devices with supported
readers allow users to log in through fingerprint recognition.
Credentials are stored locally and protected using asymmetric
encryption.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter of the study focused on how the research is done and to
whom it is developed.
Research Design

The researchers conduct a step by step process in order to

come up with a Scheduling System which will meet the objectives
previously stated and to provide a program which will be a great help
to the Golden Success College. First, an interview was conducted in
order to know the scheduling operations of Golden Success College
such as the manner in which schedule are recorded and updated.
Second, previous studies in relation with the topic were gathered from
books, past theses and net, to properly and fully comply with the
current scheduling needs of the said entity. Third, a Scheduling system
via Visual Basic was then created. This will not require any internet
connection but only computer sets and the system itself. Using this,
scheduling system and can easily be monitored and recorded,
scheduling conflict may be prevented.

Through this, the researchers may be able to make a

corresponding program that would answer the problem identified in
the former part of this research.

Gantt Chart

This table shows the process followed by the researchers in conducting

the study and accomplishing the written output.

Feasibility Study

Technical. In terms of the technical aspect of the study, the

researchers analyzed and assessed the possible data, processes and
programming language to be utilized for the making of scheduling
system. The researchers conducted a wide research about the propose
system. They research about the features, specification and design to
be use in the Scheduling system to make it fit to the Golden Success
College Inc. Scheduling System.

Cost and Benefit Analysis. A Scheduling System makes everything

to become easier to make a schedule in every instructor in golden
success college. Doing a manual scheduling to every instructor it can
take days, but with a Scheduling system, the same process can be
done in a matter of hours. With this, managers can use much of their
time on serious problems rather than that of manual scheduling. Once
25

the scheduling system is in place, managers and workers can

automatically view and check if he/she have already schedule on that
day. Managers and workers can also use the system to know easier
when they have already schedule in that day.

This shows the total expenses incurred by the Golden Success College
Inc. in using manual system of scheduling.

CHAPTER V

SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the summary, findings, conclusions and

recommendations of the study.

Summary

Golden Success College uses the manual process of keeping tracks of

its inventory for years ever since it was established since 2007. The
manual inventory system can hardly keep up with the hundreds of
34

inventory that Golden Success College manages. Moreover, with the

growing number of purchases and a record to every transaction, it was
getting difficult to manage. Physical count is the only way to assess the
number of inventory where in it takes 3-5 days to finish inventory
count. If the owner wanted accurate count, it would need to close the
establishment for a day wherein he would have to lose early day’s
income.

To solve this problem, the researchers came up with a computerized

inventory system that is designed to simplify the process of keeping
track of inventory count. This is to help ease the burden of manually
counting inventories annually.

The study was conducted in a period of four months, for the planning
of the system to design up, to finalization of the paper and the
program interface itself.

Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 was used in programming.

Findings

Based from the analysis of the data presented, the following findings
were stated:

1. Computerized Inventory System. In order to achieve the

aforementioned objectives of the study, the researchers
considered the theories and concept regarding the effective
inventory management. The researchers considered the concept
of safety stocks and economic order quantity (EOQ) in order to
monitor accurately the level of inventory of the said entity.
2. Accessibility. The developed system can be accessed by the
owner and staffs in charge of the inventory management.
3. User Interface. The researchers used Visual Basic 6.0 in
designing the interface of the system.
35

4. Computerized Inventory System. The system designed by the

researchers and the developers allow its user to generate
information about its inventory level of Golden Success College
easier. The system computes for the amount of the inventory,
the entity has and allows it to know when to get it because of
considering the concept of recorder point and safety stock for
better inventory management.

Conclusions

The conclusions drawn from the findings were the following:
