YARD WASTE – NEW COLLECTION DAY IS WEDNESDAY

Yard waste shall be grass trimmings, palm fronds, leaves and tree limbs. Tree limbs and yard trimmings need to be kept
separate from garbage by residential generators. Each resident who collects yard trimmings and leaves should place them
in their blue yard debris cart or bag them in a brown paper sack and placed curbside. Plastic bags will not be collected
due to being unrecyclable. Each bag placed out for collection may weigh no more than fifty (50) pounds. Yard waste, such as
tree limbs, are to be placed into the blue yard debris cart or stacked in a pile no longer than (5) five feet in length, (5) five feet
high, and (5) five feet deep. Tree trunks larger than (4) four inches in diameter will not be collected. ANY THIRD-PARTY YARD
CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT DISPOSE OF YARD WASTE CURBSIDE. CONTRACTOR MAY DISPOSE OF YARD WASTE AT
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OR OTHER DESIGNATED FACILITY.

BULK TRASH
One bulk item may be placed curbside for pickup on your normal garbage day.

BLUE CARTS
Utilizing your blue cart for yard debris makes yard clean up easier and allows you to have debris picked up without
having to bag it. This saves time on collection and keeps the curbs neater. You must notify the City of Tybee no later
than May 1, 2020 if you DO NOT wish to repurpose your blue cart as a yard debris cart. The City will collect blue carts
from residents that do not wish to repurpose them. Blue carts that are filled with trash or recycle items will not be
collected and may be confiscated by the City beginning April 1, 2020.
