Managerial communication for Professional Success (MCPS)

Reflection paper
Session 1
In the first session my faculty discussed about the goal of training, Mindset, Colonial Rules and
also discussed about Misconceptions. He talked about twelve things that can help me being
successful. While skills and talents are important, they aren't the only things that can make me
successful. Dozen things that need zero/little talent, they are- Being on Time, Work Ethics (Task
Accountability), Extra Effort, Body Language, Energy, Ambition, Determination, Enthusiasm,
Being Trainable, Discipline, Being Prepared & Positive Mind. The concept of this course is very
much clear that is change in behavior.

I feel that the training is a holistic solution for me to enhance self-leadership improve
communication and managerial skill in my professional life and personal life as well. Undoubtedly,
the manager must undertake and follow the lessons that I have learnt today.

First of all, my faculty was full of information. Every line that he said in today’s session are
important to me. The important line I remember, Learning is permanent change in behavior
implantation in application. And I have also learnt, Today- This is an Opportunity to Do A work,
better than Yesterday.

Secondly, When I have asked myself on how I implement the change of my habit, I got some
points to be implemented from today. These are- giving two hours’ extra effort to my work place,
improving my dress code, thinking positive and trainable to my successors.

Finally, I have learned that effective communication is the key for organizations and personal as
well to improve my growth. New Growth comes from New Thinking, do something different. I could
not reflect most of the things that my faculty taught me in this first session. But I will read this
reflection that I wrote today always to remember my learnings and commitment. I appreciate my
faculty for the idea of reflection paper submission weekly.
