Storyboard Final Draft

The starting scene it will be on a long straight road in which starts with a tracking close
up of the back of the car pulling up to the side of the side of the road this will be
done to create suspense as the car slowly pull up to the curb. The sound will be
silent as will this also help build the sound scape of being unknown to the situation.
The lighting will be quite dark to help build a dangerous atmosphere for the
audience
1. In this next scene there will be a close up shot of the car this will pan round the back
of the car with the lights on low to show something suspicious is going on. This will
cut and pan up to the front seat, the shot will go to the face to show the emotions
going through the character. This will still be in silence to carry on the suspense. The
front seat light will be on help light the persons face.

2. It will then be a cut to another pan shot down from outside of the car to his feet
touching the ground on the curb this use of only seeing the feet in the dark lighting
will help highlight the seriousness of the situation, this will cut to black as the foot
touches the ground. The foot will have an enhanced sound of it hitting the floor to
help foreshadow the up-coming shot.

3. This blackout the reveals the title “Brotherhood” for 5 seconds then fading into the
opening sequence of the flash back to being kids waking up in the morning for
school.

4. The flashback starts off in the morning triggered by the diegetic sound of the alarm
clock this will be supported by a top shot of them waking up in bed this will be in
morning lighting showing an early start for school this will then cut. Cutting to a mid-
shot of him from behind as he gets up and sits on the side of his bed to show him
waking up there will only be non-diegetic sound of the duvets rustling as he gets up.

5. The next shot will be Sam getting up out of bed and walking to the shower showing
he’s in a rush this will be a tracking shot to the shower these will be close ups to help
show his unwillingness of wanting to go to school and the slow same process every
day, there will only be non-diegetic sound to show the drowning sounds of everyday
life.

6. It will then switch to a long shot in the kitchen facing Lucas eating at the table and
Sam comes rushing down the stairs to show his last-minute attitude. This will be film
at a lower angle to show that he has to wait around for his brother as he’s always
late.
7. It will then cut to a side shot of the door opening and the brothers walking out one
after the other this will bring a natural light in signifying their freedom, there will be
a close up of the door shutting and the hands closing it. This will then switch to a
double over the shoulder shot of the boys walking together to school to show their
brothers and their daily routine.

8. It then cuts to the two brothers walking into school together, this will be in the same
double over the shoulder shot to show the same journey there will be background
sound of the busy school over the top showing they’re not alone anymore. This will
then jump to a front shot of the brothers both splitting going to their separate group
this shows the first signs of the differences between them both.

9. The next shot will be a extreme long shot of the two boys and their separate groups,
the sound scape will still be the sounds of a school playground with shouting and
talking this will help set the scene of being at school. Sam will then be seen slowly
exiting school with his mates.

10. This will then fade transition to the shop in which Sam enters and using mid tracking
shots he will be tracked and seen putting items in his pockets, this will show the start
of the fall of Sam as he starts doing wrong. It will then cut to a long shot outside the
shop in which Sam comes sprinting out the doors and the shop keeper follows the
boys staying with Sam. We will use diegetic breathing to show the thrill he is getting
out of the chase.

11. After been seen running of down the road it cuts to Sam arriving home as he walks
through the door the camera changes to the other side showing a transition in time
he will walk through the other side as his older self in a tracksuit. Lucas will be sitting
in doors in a suit showing his success and the right path then show Sam in his
tracksuit showing he’s taken the wrong path.

12. This then cuts into Lucas rushing Sam out the door as they are going to be late to
their interview as Sam is unprepared .To show this Sam will be seen running down
the stairs in a wide shot this showing he hasn’t changed in being prepared for things
and being last minute this will have a natural sound scape.

13. There will then be a tracking shot of them arriving at the car park which will cut to
the boys waiting in chairs for their name to get called and they both get called one
after the other. There will then be a two-shot showing both the interview’s going on
this will show Lucas’s going well and Sam’s going badly. This will be shot in silence to
build tension and so they audience can see the difference between the brothers.

14. There will then be a close a close up shot of one hand being shaken and the other
being turned away this will then cut to close ups of Lucas’s face being happy and
Sam’s being sad and angry as he didn’t get the job.

15. They arrive home and Sit to talk about the situation this will be shot in a shot reverse
shot to show the conversation between both of them, the sound will be the natural
sound scape with their conversation, this will all diegetic and will be performed from
the script.

16. Sam will suddenly get a call this will be shown in a close up of the phone then go to
and over the shoulder shot from Sam showing Lucas questioning him. This will still
be a natural sound scape so you can hear the phone and the conversation between
them.

17. Sam then gets up and using a tracking shot enters a car that pulls up outside. There
will then be a wide shot of the car pulling away at speed this will be done with
diegetic sound of car tires screeching to show the speed.

18. Sam will then be seen in a mid-shot approaching a car to talk to them and take a
large bag, this instigated the down fall of Sam. There will be non-diegetic sound
added in.

19. They will then drop Sam off in a quite location alone in which the montage starts in
which there will be close ups of hands exchanging item and people. This will be done
with music over the top to show what’s going on. There will then be a montage of
the Sam dealing with mid shots and close ups of things being exchanged this will be
done with a track playing over.

20. The montage will then stop and a group of kids in a long shot will approach Sam a
steal the bag. This will be using a natural soundscape so you can hear the situation
unfold.

23. Using a close-up Sam will then call the dealer and tell him that’s he’s been robbed
you will see in a mid-shot of Sam being distressed as he now knows he’s in trouble

24. This then leads Sam to call Lucas telling him he’s in trouble this will be done in a two
shot, you will be able to hear the two having a convocation telling Sam to come
home.

25. As Sam starts walking to his house, he gets pulled up on by the dealer this will be
shown in a long shot they then chase him and catch him starting to hit him this will
be shown in a mid-shot with natural soundscape.

26. Sam manages to get up and get away the chase through the woods then begins in a
tracking shot this will be a montage of clips running through the woods to escape the
dealers chasing.

27. While running a close up shot of the dealer’s hand shows him pulling out a gun
holding it up and shooting Sam, this then cuts to slow motion of Sam dropping to the
floor as he’s been shot.
28. First scene is then repeated followed by brother hood title screen showing the end
with intense sound effects in the background.
