RIGHTS OF CONSUMERS
1. Right to Safety
Consumers have the right to be safe against goods that are harmful to
one's health and life. All products are required to be checked for safety,
reliability, and quality.
CONSUMER-RELATED LAWS:
RA 386 - Civil Code of the Philippines
Art. 2187 - Manufacturers are accountable for the death, sickness, injury
or harm upon anyone resulting from the use of its product
. RA 7392 - Consumer act of the Philippines
- Products found unsafe and dangerous are not to be sold nor distributed
to the public.
2. Right to Information
Consumers have the right to be protected from misleading information
and fraud.

Art. 546 - Fake advertisements are not allowed.

-The manufacturer is accountable for all the information it gives out
regarding a particular product.

Art. 10 - Advertisements which misinform the public are not allowed.

Art. 38 - This Act provides listing of food, cosmetics, drugs and others
which are unsafe to the customers.
3. Right to Choose
-Consumers have the right to choose among variety of products. In case
of a monopoly, the government needs to monitor such manufacturer to
safeguard the welfare of the public.
4. Right to be Heard
-Consumers have the right to complain to the proper authorities
regarding any dissatisfaction from the use of a product or service.

Art. 1547 - The seller should provide a guarantee attesting to the safety of
the product and must be responsible for whatever harm may be inflicted on
the consumer.
