Amber falls over during song. George curiously looks over to her.
George: Hey… I’m just wondering if you’re alright [puts hand out to amber]
Amber: [Amber hesitates then gets up by herself] I don’t need your help
-----------
The running increases in intensity until they repeat a series of actions 4 or so times. Song fades
out.
George: What?
George: Well… You know what I needed to stop anyway I’m thirsty
George stops.
Amber: Why are you dressed like some sort of boy scout?
George reluctantly hands Amber his bag - Amber snatches it and finds the water bottle instantly
and drinks it all then throws the water bottle away. George is looking for signs of where they are.
George:Yeah.. I suppose.
Amber: [sighs] If you are ever lost in a forest, the trees will help you find your way.
George: Ahh, I see. So you are saying if I jump really high.. [George prepares to jump then
What are you doing?
Amber starts climbing him] …
Amber: Just shh for a moment at stay still [amber makes her way to stand on George’s
shoulders then directs him] Left a bit….. No my left…. Turn…. Turn more… I see smoke!
George: Oh no
Amber: We need to go somewhere that has water. Somewhere away from the fire?
kay..
George: [starting to panic too] O
George: No.
Amber: Canals?
George: No.
Amber: Reservoirs?
George: No.
George: Not except my water bottle. Hey where is that [looks in bag for water bottle finds Map]
Amber: Give me that [Snatches map off of George. Choreographed movement explaining how
to get to Cape mistake] There’s nothing here, it’s a barren wasteland!!!
George: In a clearing surrounded by a mixture of oak and beech, giving off a heady scent, with
an undertone of smoke
Amber: The Forest…. And we need to get to water… How about the cape?
George: [like a dictionary] Why would we need to go to a point or head of land projecting into a
body of water?
Amber: [Sighs] We need to leave the forest down the Really Slippery Slope…… take the
conveniently Rattley bridge Over the Pit of Mosh…. Take a left down the M40….
Amber: Stop off at the picnic site… and then jump the final hurdle.
-------
George: Maybe they can help us find the edge of the forest?
Amber: Urm I don't know Jeff, Can they?
George: [To audience] Can you help us find the edge of the Forest?
[Audience Responds]
George: I have this trick that we adventures to keep ourselves under control in big groups,
veryone touches
Where if you all stand up and I say ‘touch your head’ [Audience Responds]... e
their head… See you try
Compass Running game for a bit. Amber then takes them in circles. George finds the exit of the
forest and they run to one side of the room where he stops them.
----
George and Amber: Everybody stop we’ve reached the really slippery slope!
George Leads the way crossing down the slope. Amber makes sure the kids don't go too close
to one another. George forgets his backpack and Amber notices this when they are all down the
slope. The reverse roles this time with Amber leading the way crawling back up the slope.
Amber grabs backpack and they go down the slope in pairs. At the bottom the get into a line,
but Amber is distracted and sifting through George’s stuff.
George: Everyone get into order of birthdays. Quick, for the rattley bridge!
[Audience Responds]
Amber: Jeff… why aren't they in order?
Amber: They’re supposed to be in height order! Everyone get into height order... And Fast!
[Audience Responds]
----
We walk them single file into a diagonal line with Amber leading and George at the back. They
have to hold onto the shoulders of the person in front of them to create a conga line. There’s a
gust of wind forcing everyone to the right in a snakey way, then to the left, then to the right
again. They must keep in contact whilst moving around the space, following Amber’s lead.
Amber: [Turns around] J eff, this is too dangerous, we’re going to have to go back, everyone turn
around and attach to the person behind you.
[Audience Responds]
George: No, what are you doing? Jess, I’ve walked plenty of bridges in my time, I would know if
this bridge wasn’t safe. Everyone turn back around, lets keep going.
Amber: Jeff, the bridge is starting to shake. Everyone, brace yourselves, there’s more wind
coming!!!!
Smaller and sharper gusts of wind hit the line, one to the left and one to the right.
[Audience Responds]
Everyone falls to the floor in a winkle position until we reach the pit of mosh.
----
Music fades up slowly, Amber starts muttering to herself in excitement, gets up and starts
dancing, meanwhile George plays Touch Your Head game to make sure everyone’s okay.
George: Okay, okay, it seems to me as if we’re in the Pit of Mosh. Jess, what are you doing?
George: JESS!?
Amber and George argue about who is driving and then mime getting into a car. Amber wins
and they drive off front facing. There is a two and fro while they’re driving on all the minor roads
and the car suddenly comes to a standstill as they reach the M40, where the entire scene is a
right turn.
Amber: No.
George: Aw
[pause]
George: aww
[pause]
George: That's what happens when you drink all my water and then jump up and down in a pit
ook the picnic sight
of mosh or whatever! [Pause] L
George struggles like an old man trying to get out of the car, grabbing his backpack
George: Of Course
George and Amber set up the picnic and gleefully get lost in choreographed movement of
passing food and drink and having a fun time like kids do at a picnic - cartwheels and
handstands and stuff. The stuff they do gets slowly more dark until:
MUSIC STARTS George and Amber commence running as they did at the beginning, this time
supporting and leaping over each other, working together as friends
ook it's the final hurdle!!
Amber: [Pointing] L
George: What?
George: At least we are safe from the fire now. Couldn’t have done it without you though.
[Pause]
Amber: Whilst I’ve thoroughly enjoyed sharing this adventure with you, I’m gonna go back to the
pit of mosh. Seeya [Leaves]
Pause
