The Instructor has 35 years of Operational and DGR Training Experience with
Air India. During his tenure with the airline had worked in all Operational areas
viz., Reservations, Pax Handling, Load & Trim, Ramp Handling etc. In
connection with the DGR training the Instructor had trained Cargo Acceptance
personnel, Counter personnel, Ramp Handling personnel, Cockpit and Cabin
Crew personnel, Load Planners and Load Masters for almost 02 decades.
Besides DGR training on behalf of Air India was also given to Cargo Agents
and Shippers associated with the Air India.
From August 2012, the Instructor had taken voluntary retirement and associated
with GPs Institute for Dangerous Goods and started imparting DGR Training to
all in the Aviation Industry and associated agencies.
The class room shall be equipped with modern teaching aids. The training will
be conducted by experienced and approved professionals. Every participant
will be provided a copy of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations which shall
be returned after the training. Each participant will be given a handout which
shall contain all the relevant Dangerous Goods Regulations extracts of Civil
Aviation Requirements and notes relevant to the course syllabus of the
respective Category. The Handout will be provided by the Institute and will be
the property of the participant.
Each training course has to be planned atleast twenty (20) days prior to the
commencement of the course.
As per the Civil Aviation Requirements to enable the instructor to give personal
attention to all the participants, the maximum number of students shall not
exceed (20) twenty.

➢ A participant shall score 80% marks to pass the examination. Those who
secure 90% and above will get distinction.
➢ Those who fail to secure 80% marks in the examination will not qualify.
➢ Those who fail to secure 80% marks in the examination may be allowed
to reappear in the test for the next batch.
➢ As per the Regulations the course is valid for a period of 24 months and
each participant has to undergo a Recurrent Training within 24 months of
the Initial Training.
After completion of this training, the candidate will be familiar with the
contents of the Dangerous Goods Regulations and will be able to deal with all
types of dangerous goods covered by the Dangerous Goods Regulations.
Specifically, he will be able to:
➢ Apply the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations correctly.
➢ Understand the legal aspects involved.
➢ Differentiate between shipper's and operator's responsibilities
➢ Identify dangerous goods which are:
▪ Forbidden for air transport, or
▪ Permitted as cargo under the Regulations, or
▪ Excepted from the Regulations in all or in part.
➢ Identify the nine classes of dangerous goods by their principle criteria.
