AS OF Wednesday, December 20, the Davao City Business Bureau has
recorded 41,164 businesses with permits in the city, a big chunk of
which belonging to the retailing sector. During the Ispeak press conference yesterday, December 21, Business Bureau officer-in-charge attorney Marissa Torentera said this is much higher from the estimated 2016 number of 36,000 to 38,000 businesses. The city government has set a new record after it ended 2017 with more than 40,000 businesses and a total investment value of P270 billion, Mayor Sara Duterte said.
