OBJECTIVES
A. To promote academic excellence among Accountancy
students from different Local Chapters.
B. To help the participants discover their strengths and
for them to be awareof their weaknesses in different
Boardsubjects.
C. To allow participants to test their knowledge through
competitive, friendly,and funcompetitions.
D.To promote camaraderie and sportsmanship among
theparticipants.

QUALIFICATIONS
A. The DR. TERESITA U. QUIRINO CUP is open for application to
Accountancy students who are bona fide members of the National
Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants FY2019-
2020.
B. The DTUQ Cup for this year will be an individual competition.
Each local chapter may send maximum of three tributes (participants)
that will be representing their respective district (local chapter)
C. Each contestant should be a Fourth Year or a Third Year student in
a four (4) year course or a Fourth Year or a Fifth Year student in a
five (5) yearcourse

The 10th Dr. TERESITA U. QUIRINO CUP shall cover the following subjects.

B. CONTEST PROPER
Dr. Teresita U. Quirino Cup is composed Two Levels which is the Elimination
Level (Reaping Competition) and the Final Level, elimination level has three subsets
namely: Easy, Average and Difficult.

C. ELIMINATION ROUND (REAPING ROUND)
The 1st level is called “REAPING” in which fifteen (15) tributes will be selected
according to their tabulated scores. These fifteen tributes will have the chance to
continue to the next and final level of the competition.
Mocking jay- like the bird itself, symbolizes a creature with a spirit of its own.
Tributes are not allowed to use calculators in this question. Of course, this is not a
theory question.

4. Rue’s flower question
Rue’s flower- are flowers katniss used to cover the body of her friend rue, rue’s
death became really significant to katniss this made her falter but also made her
fight even more. Any participant who will failed to answer this question will not be
unable to participate on the next question.

D. FINAL ROUND (THE BATTLEGROUND)
This round will measure every tribute's strategies and eagerness to win in
the battleground, wherein 15 participants who qualified from the elimination
round will fight with their best until only one's left and will win the game. There
will be 40 questions in this round and in every 10 questions, least point earner
will be no longer part of the game. This round will also be holding different sets
of powers (which can positively or negatively affect the tributes’ standing in the
competition)
• Power for immunity- once the tribute correctly answer a question with
a power for immunity, he/she has the power to be excluded for the
next question. Regardless of he/she will answer the question, he/she
will be earning the points.
• Power to freeze an opponent- the tribute who will answer the question
designated for this power, he/she has the ability to freeze an
opponent, meaning the opponent he/she might freeze cannot answer
the next question and will not gain any point.
• The Sprint power- Once the tribute answer a question with a sprint
power, the tribute will be skipping two questions and will be gaining
the points from those questions
• The Shield Power- This power is a protection from any harm the
tribute might receive. This power is applicable for the next two
consecutive questions.
• Deduce Power- This power will be applicable for the tributes who will
incorrectly answer the question designated to this power. The tributes
will have a 3 point deduction to which round the question will be
present.

E. GENERAL RULES
a) MANNER OF READING AND ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS
1. The tributes are provided with a copy of the question of every item
every level. The tributes are not allowed to flip the copy of the question
until the quiz master gives the signal “flip”
2. An official quizmaster will read the category, credit points, and time
limit of each question—the quizmaster will also announce whether the
question is a theory or a problem requiring computation.
3. After the quiz master announces the question number, the contestant
may start to read the question provided. The questions shall be read
once and a slide of the question shall be projected on a screen.
4. The tributes are also provided a white board (serves as their
answer sheet), a white board marker and a scratch paper. Tributes are
required to bring their “basic calculator as their main weapon in the
competition.
5. Tributes are only allowed to manipulate their calculators after the quiz
master says “GO”
6. The tributes should answer each question within the allotted time. A
bell ring shall be used to signify that the time allotted for answering
has lapsed.
7. At that point, tributes should stop answering and must immediately
raise their answer board.
8. Abbreviations are not allowed to be used unless specifically allowed
by the Board of Judges in a particular question.

9. The tributes should write their answers clearly and legibly on the
provided answer boards.
10. Erasure, in any form (which may include but is not limited to
tampering or any form of alteration/s), is strictly not allowed.
11. Any tribute caught cheating shall be immediately disqualified

1. Before proceeding to the next question, the tributes have the power to
have 10 seconds allotted time to raise a protest/clarification, to
request for a new marker or a scratch paper, to change their
calculator. (Only the tributes are given the power to file protests.)
2. Protests shall be raised to the panel of judges before the next question
is read. Otherwise, it will not be entertained.
3. The judges’ decision regarding protests that may arise during the quiz
cup shall be final and irrevocable.
4. Violation of this IRR shall deem the tribute’s answer null/void.
5. Once the IRR has been read, the tributes have the power to raise
questions/clarifications regarding the said rules and mechanics.

B. ATTIRE AND ARRIVAL
1. The tributes (participants) are advised to be at the venue or at the
designated place at least 30 minutes before the time schedule.
2. The tributes (participants) must also properly registered and must also
sign the attendance sheet before proceeding to the contest proper.
3. The tributes can wear corporate attire (no denim pants, rubber shoes,
slippers, casual wear, etc.) or school uniform. The tributes are also
allowed to wear their organization shirts. Other clothes which are not
mentioned are strictly prohibited.
4. Late tributes are still allowed to join the competition. However, he/she
shall no longer be allowed to answer the questions he/she missed.

1. The computation of scores will be cumulative.
2. The tributes that'll be the top three (3) highest score earners will
be declared as first, second and third.
3. The top three shall receive medals, books, certificates and a
cash prizes
1ST PLACE - Php 3, 000
2nd PLACE - Php 2,000
3rd PLACE - Php 1,000
4. The Dr. Teresita U. Quirino Cup shall be a Revolving Cup.
Permanency of the right to hold the cup will be granted if and
only if a participating school has been awarded as overall
champion for three (3) consecutive years. Otherwise, the cup
will remain as a Revolving Cup.
