Reading

7 Read the text and decide if the sentences (1-5) are True (T) or False (F).
Put a tick () in the correct box.

It may sound like a delicious job, but there is a lot more to being a chocolate taster than eating
yummy chocolate according to professional taster Tina Simmons. Tina says she only tastes
the chocolate. She puts a piece of chocolate in her mouth, tastes it and then spits it out. She
works in a small room with red lighting that hides what the chocolate looks like so she only
judges how it tastes.
The first thing Tina does when judging a chocolate is smell it. She then breaks the chocolate to
make sure it’s not too soft. When Tina tastes the chocolate she checks for the flavour as well
as the texture. “There are a lot of things to check for before I can say a type of chocolate is
good to sell and it can be very tiring.” says Tina. Even after spending a tiring day tasting
chocolate, Tina says she still enjoys the occasional chocolate after dinner.

1 Tina doesn't eat the chocolate she checks.
