Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That Change Everything by B.J Fogg, PhD ( a
book review of Ruby R.)

I first discovered the Tiny Habits method a few years ago through BJ Fogg's 5-
day free email program. From the very beginning, the tiny habits method completely
resonated with me. I started with his Maui habit to set my intention to have a fabulous
day the first thing my feet hit the ground in the morning. This habit generated a
significant change in my outlook on a daily basis.

The Tiny Habits book deepened my understanding of habit change. I love the
personal case studies that bring the methods to life and BJ Fogg's conversational
writing style provides easy to understand step by step instructions on how to create
positive habits that stick. He demystifies behavior change from something that is
unattainable to a series of recipes that are doable and sustainable. The recipe metaphor
is brilliant! Like a cook in the kitchen, you can always alter the recipe when it doesn't
taste the way you want it to. The same applies to Tiny Habits!

Another bonus is that the book offers ways to troubleshoot your habit design
recipes. The recipes are very flexible allowing you to make changes easily when
something is not working instead of feeling bad about yourself for not achieving
behavior change. How refreshing…and probably the most delightful part of the book! BJ
Fogg really emphasizes the need to be kind and gentle with ourselves and to rely on the
system to help us with behavior change vs. berating ourselves and feeling bad. This
book for me is a game-changer and one that will help a lot of people reach their
aspirations in life.

Part II. Reflection

Reading many book reviews about Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That
Change Everything, numerous book reviews passed by and this one caught my full
attention. Based on what I have read on this book review, I can say that the book was
really a good book in a way that it offers tiny changes and eventually these tiny changes
became mightily. Those thing, which seems to be undoable and unattainable when
taken the first single step, it progresses and as time pass by due to continues
application of those tiny changes, it creates greater impacts and change.

The way she stated how the flow of the book goes, how the remedies were
applied to those failed tiny changes and the like. Everything were connected to each
other and it created a big impact and appeal on those who are reading the review. It
gives curiosity to the reader; what are those “tiny things” that should be applied to a
day-to-day living and those undoable and unattainable things that this book gives
remedy. Another thing was her statement about the book that when it gives the recipe
and the given recipe didn’t work out, there is another recipe to achieve the desired
behaviour.

The writer of the review really convinced me that this book was worth spending
the money. And yes, I will definitely buy the novel. I will explain and find out on myself
those tiny things that were stated on the book reviews.
