Gulayan sa Paaralan
Narrative Report
S.Y. 2019-2020

Every year, the Department of Education is searching for the Best

Implementers of the Gulayan sa Paaralan program to establish and promote
agricultural arts program and projects per DepEd Memorandum 095, S. 2018 –
Sustaining the Implementation of Gulayan sa Paaralan Program in Public
Elementary and Secondary schools nationwide.

The Alicia Vocational School participated this program in November 2019

with the aim to improve and increase vegetable production and consumption of food
which are applicable to their homes and important for household security. It also
aims to establish school gardens to serve as main source of food to sustain
supplementary feeding program. It also showcases Agricultural related innovations
and small – scale production models in schools to be replicated in the students’
household.

The Alicia Vocational School participated in this contest. Fortunately, the

school won the district level in Vocational Category and successfully notched the top
place in Legislative District III level which qualified the school to compete in the
Division Level and declared as the Champion. For this reason, the school competed
in the Regional Level wherein the result is not yet announce.

The school achieved this recognition through the joint effort of the school
head, Emily O. Benitez, Maximo L. Rodulfo—GPP Coordinator, Agricultural Crop
teachers and students, AVS Faculty and Staff , parents and students. Moreover, this
success will never be realized without the donations of local businessmen who
donated chicken dung, rice hull, carbonized rice hull and used tires. The support of
Alicia East District Supervisor, Bernaldo P. Taberna and LGU-Alicia headed by
Mayor Joel Amos P. Alejandro and Sangunian Bayan members as well as the
barangay officials headed by Punong Barangay Rogelio C. Sanchez is also greatly
appreciated.
