WELCOME TO
COLUMBIA
BACK TO WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Not only is Columbia where the homecoming tradition started, it’s where your traditions
started! The tailgates, the cheers and all things black and gold. When the tailgating is over and
the game clock expires, don’t let the fun stop! Time and time again, visitors are delightfully
surprised by what Columbia has to offer. From picturesque parks and clever cuisine to
amazing art and superb shopping, visitors find that Columbia is ‘surprisingly sophisticated.’

We like to think of Columbia as a cool neighborhood in a big city, with a young vibe,
an active buzz and an engaged community. We’re also a friendly and welcoming
community, with a thriving downtown and an abundance of cultural opportunities.
Columbia may have changed since you left, but it still has everything you always loved.

We’re Columbia... What You Unexpect!

city goes, I’m staying pretty open, but
I know that I would love to do video
storytelling for a nonprofit or a church.
I’m passionate about telling people’s
stories in a way that builds empathy
and connections.
Best memory of MU: I think that
the moment I got the call that I was
going to be a Summer Welcome leader
was one of my best MU memories. I
was at work in my little cubicle in the
Registrar’s Office and just started
crying immediately, which was only
a little embarrassing. It had been my
dream since I was about 10 years old to
be a Summer Welcome leader, so that
moment was pretty surreal.
