Job Title : Civil Works Engineer

1. Job Purpose:
To perform CW inspection on the new under construction sites to ensure that all the
standards are met in accordance with Telecom standards for site build.

2. Dimensions: Targets: Meeting the target of CW

Budget (Operating/Capital): inspection on different milestones and
to ensure that the CW quality is met by
Total No. of Reporting Staff: N/A the contractors. Also to ensure that the
right quantity of materials are used in
the site construction.

3. Principal Accountabilities:
 Travelling mostly on the sites to do the inspection on various milestones.
 Meeting all of the agreed deadlines and milestones on time.
 SA status presentation to rollout manager.
 Good working relationship with site contractors for timely completion of
rollout.
 Completion of CW PATs with the contractors in time and to handover the
sites to TI in a professional manner.
 Follow up with contractors for clearing the snag list within agreed time
frame.
 Other tasks assigned by Line Manager
4. Operating Environment:
 Working in a challenging role to meet the timelines and deliver new network.

5. Communications and Working Relationships:

 Very closed day to day coordination internally with the following functions
internally.
o Field Operations team
o NOC staff
o Site Acquisition team
o Telecom implementation team
 Good working relationship with following external functions.
o Municipalities and other local government authorities.
o MPTC
o EDC
o Site owners

6. Framework, Boundaries, Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:

CW engineer will be the person responsible to inspect the material used by the
contractors to build the site as per agreed site design document. He should ensure
that all the necessary checks are performed on the allocated cluster of sites and the
status is reported to rollout manager in time.

7. Knowledge Skills and Experience:

 Should have 3-5 years of Civil works experience in a Telco rollout or vendor.
 Must be proactive and should take initiative to resolve issues.
 Must be self motivated and understand the criticality of continuous mobile
service.
 Should be proficient with tools like MS office, MS project and must have good
verbal and written English skills.
 Should be good in people management.
 Should have good presentation skills to present project status to Technical
Management.
