Filipinos value the sanctity of the family as an institution.

We have strong family ties that in everything

that we do we put our family’s well-being first. This is one of the reasons why most of my fellowmen
take their chances of working abroad in order to provide their families a better quality of life. From a
legal standpoint, this is the main reason why divorce is not allowed in our country. Another quality
which Filipinos are known for is that we are friendly and accommodating individuals. At most, we make
sure that our visitors are well-entertained and comfortable to the point that whenever a Filipino
household has visitors new beddings, utensils, and quality food will be used and served just to make
them feel welcome as opposed to ordinary days in the household. This is our way of showing our
hospitality which is not only limited within the home but also in the streets whenever foreigners are in
need of any help, we make sure that we lend a hand. It is a fact that ours is a third-world country, but
perhaps the most redeeming quality of us Filipinos is that we remain happy and positive despite the
hardships.
