Planning

I received an email from Full Swing Entertainment about making a promotional

advertisement and a 5-minute documentary video. We arranged to meet up
for the discussion on what exactly they would like to include, for the
advertisement they would like clips of children and families having fun
together and to showcase their equipment. The 5-minute documentary should
highlight the issues that their business is facing with the current insurance
problem in Ireland with not being able to get inflatable insurance in the
Republic Of Ireland. They emphasised that they wanted professional, safe
service. They specified that they wanted the advert to be like the others on
their website.
Research
I started preparing for this by
looking at different adverts that
they have previously put on
their website/YouTube channel.
This meant that I got a feel for
the type of promotional
advertisement that they
preferred.
Next, I started researching the insurance crisis, this meant that I was able to
correctly ask questions and understand their issue so that I could put it across
on the video for their company.
Statement of intention
For this short documentary film on Full Swing Entertainment I intend to have
Ronnie McClelland sit down with me on camera and talk about his business,
how it originated and how it will be effected by the insurance crisis in Ireland.
The Insurance Crisis in Ireland has affected thousands of businesses and
companies have been forced to shut down since they can no longer be insured.

Ideas
Start the video of Full Swing Entertainment equipment in use with kids smiling
and enjoying themselves, this promotes the company with their kid friendly
theme. Title comes across the screen ‘Full Swing Entertainment’. Ronnie
McClelland interview about how it started and then cuts to insurance crisis
with Gerry Frawley filling in the audience about the crisis. Then I will come on
the screen talking about how I grew up in an exciting family that have created
their own business. Then cuts to Ronnie talking about how his business will be
affected personally and how it will have a negative impact on the future of the
business. Then I talk about growing up and how the business has taught me a
lot about health and safety. Ronnie talks about his employee, cuts to a couple
of videos of them enjoying themselves.

Review

Evaluation
I planned, produced and edited the project as director, which was quite
challenging subject, as I am also an employee so I felt like I had to try my best
with this video. I am happy with how it turned out as I worked hard to gather
information and to execute the idea with a professional manner. I feel as
though I managed my time really well with trying to complete the video within
the period I had to do it.
I feel like overall in the sense that I completed it to a good standard however I
feel as though I could have done it better. I have discussed it with the client to
which they said that they are happy with the finished product and are putting
the advertisement up on their website. I feel as though there are things that I
could have done differently such as choose a better soundtrack to underlay the
video, done an interview with clients of Full Swing, had other B-roll clips.
For editing I used iMovie as it was the only editing software I had at home, I
feel as though it would have been better if I had used Final Cut Pro as it means
that I would have had more tools at disposal. I started preparing for this
project by looking through and sorting clips that I had taken over the previous
summer.
