This game can be played with 2-4 in a group. Players take turns saying the numbers in the target language that are side by
side (horizontally or vertically—they may NOT make diagonal lines). If correct, the player gets to draw a line connecting the
two numbers. Decide before you begin the rules for what happens if they are wrong (Do they miss that turn or is a 2nd
attempt allowed to make corrections?). When a player adds the 4th side to a box, they write their initials in the box. When they
add the 4th side, they also get another turn- they still must say the 2 numbers to draw a line. Moves may be anywhere on the
board. With each turn, players will be calling out 2 numbers. The winner is the player who has the most number of boxes.
This game can be played until the game board is completely filled in, or a time limit can be set (15-20 minutes is a good
length of time).
Example:
In the example, there are 2 players. Strategy savvy students will attempt to keep their opponents from creating any boxes and so will end up
putting lines all over the game board at first.
