A Dedication

When I became Bacolod mayor in l995, my vision turned passion was to fill the
need of the city for a public college. I then initiated, founded and established this
institution, the Bacolod City College, school year l997-l998, designed to offer
affordable and accessible yet quality-based college education especially for the
less privileged sector of our people.

Therefore, let the transformational power of education through this college

nurture my legacy of growth, improvement and achievement in the lives of those
who pass through its portals today and those in the generations to come.

To my fellow Bacolenos, let us continue to help strengthen the dynamism of

this college and its quest for excellence to produce citizens who can contribute
to local, national and global developments.

God bless us all.

A DEDICATION
The Bacolod City College is dedicated to the people of Bacolod
who pin their hopes on education as passport to a better life and key
to a progressive society.

True to its aim of offering affordable quality education, the

Bacolod City College envisions to change the educational landscape
of the city by giving every aspiring and success-oriented Bacoleno
access to the widest possible opportunities for lifelong learning and
stability in a vibrant future.

The transformative power of education earned from Bacolod

City College, founded and established during my administration in
l997, is my legacy of growth, achievements and total success for all
those who pass through the portals of this institution .

A famous writer once wrote, “The future belongs to those who

give the next generation reason to hope.”
As Bacolenos let us therefore help Bacolod City College sustain
its dynamism and quest for excellence in producing worthwhile
citizens of today and of the generations to come..

THE BACOLOD GOVERNMENT CENTER

On June 13, 2006 Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia signed and

accepted, in behalf of the City of Bacolod the deed of
donation of a 5-hectare lot from the Fernando f. Gonzaga Inc.
and Angela Estate Inc. He then set the task of building a city
government “home” dedicated to the greatness of the
Bacolenos as a people.

This edifice, the Bacolod Government Center, has become

the centerpiece of his 3 consecutive terms as mayor of the city
and is a feat accompli for his administration after many city
leaders before him dreamt of building one, but their dream
remained as such.

The imposing and authoritative character of the building

speak of a strong civic service, good governance and firm
direction while the pillars and columns mirror the enduring
trust and mandate given to him by the people. Sobriety of the
old elegance combined with tasteful restraint aesthetically
complements its modern interiors.

A living testimony of political acumen and will, the Bacolod

Government Center has transformed the landscape of the
area into a new business growth and is now a benchmark for
a progressive metropolis where quality of life for Bacolenos is
at its best.
