Greetings!
The undersigned, Marly May A. Cordova, 5th year BS Architecture student would
like to submit for your approval thesis entitled: “CITY LIGHTS: A SHOPPING CENTER
AND RESIDENCES”

Rationale:

I choose this proposal because as I observed, Kabankalan City has a lot of open
space and there’s a great opportunity for marketing and recreation. “CITY LIGHTS: A
BUSINESS PARK IN KABANKALAN CITY” will be one of the centers for trade and
commerce as well as in tourism.

As one of the progressive cities here in Negros, in response to this growing

concern, it is assumed that a business park is needed to satisfy the needs of the people
and it could be a great help for the people of Kabankalan and the neighboring towns
and cities, especially in marketing and recreation.

My proposal a business park focuses not only on the economic growth of the city
but it also helps the community to encourage a range of physical activities such as
biking, running, and others. In comfortable surroundings, your workday will be more
enjoyable.
This proposal aims to provide a better working environment for the workers, recreational
space and has an upgraded facility to be constructed. Some of its facilities are:

 Open spaces for park

 Parking area
 Rentals for commercial uses
 Mixed offices
 Health and fitness centers
 Restaurants and more

I named my proposal CITY LIGHTS because this could be a new landmark of

Kabankalan to showcase the abundance of the city in nature. Lights mean abundance
of the city.

My proposal “CITY LIGHTS: A SHOPPING CENTER AND

RESIDENCES” will serve as the new place where people can do business wherein the
people can achieve the lifestyle that they need for their family. To do new activities such
as shopping and roaming around that could be a solution to this concern. This proposal
will surely help the people around Kabankalan City.

The site:

The site is located at Guanzon Street, Kabankalan City. It has a total lot area
of 24, 269 square meters and specifically located on the National road. The nearest
neighboring institution and the nearest structure to the site is the Edsa Ville Subdivision
in front of Edsa Ville there is another subdivision and that is Akina Subdivision in the left
side of Akina Subdivision is the Little Way College Seminary and in the left side of Little
Way College Seminary is the Georgina Homes and Kabankalan Evangelical Church.
The Jordan family, the owner of the lot that is engaged in business in Kabankalan City
decided to put up this project for everyone’s convenience. The site is suitable for a
commercial according to the zoning map of Kabankalan City.

In the future, this site will soon rise as a commercial place for Kabankalan and
this is a great opportunity for me as a BS Architecture student taking a thesis to
showcase my skills in designing and also a great help for the city to improve in the next
generation.
