Nernst Equation

The Nernst equation is used to calculate the voltage of an electrochemical cell or to find the


concentration of one of the components of the cell. It relates with the thermodynamics quantities
such as ΔG° (Gibbs free energy) and K (the equilibrium constant). The physical chemist, Walther
Nernst from German was a founder of the equation
