Planning for a TMATYC Conference.doc;

Good Morning!

We did it! As Angela men ons in her email below, the TMATYC Conference was a big hit! I cannot thank you all
enough for the me and effort you put into making the Conference efficient, effec ve and enjoyable for our TBR
colleagues. Also, Thanks to all of you for stepping up when I got knocked down with the flu. I had no doubt that I
could count on you!

We have set the bar higher for future conferences. To help the next Conference hosts (Nashville State) reach and
pass that bar, we can offer sugges ons. While your thoughts are s ll fresh, please take a moment to suggest ways
to improve the conference planning process. Several of you shared such thoughts with me over the weekend but I
was too exhausted by the me I got home to write them down. Angela has already made some changes to the
planning document (see a ached) and she would like to have your thoughts, too. Feel free to email her directly or
to send your ideas to me and I will forward them.

I hope you were able to recover over the remainder of the weekend. Have a good week!

I have spent some me this morning going over the conference evalua ons. It is the general consensus that you guys did an
absolutely awesome job! There were so many compliments about the loca on and especially the food. Calhoun’s was the
biggest hit for a Friday evening dinner ever! Someone even commented that they would be willing to pay a higher
registra on fee to have a meal like that again. The only real complaint was that the general session on Friday night was
really long and that was on me. We will reconsider the ming of the general session for next year as I know everyone is
red by that point on Friday. I just want you guys to know how much your hard work was appreciated by everyone who
a ended. One thing that I would like to ask is that if you have any sugges ons that you think should be added to the
planning document please let me know. I updated it some this morning and have a ached it. Anything that you think might
make things easier or smoother for future hosts and planners would be greatly appreciated. Again I can’t express how
thankful I am to work with such a great group of people. I hope the remainder of your semester is fabulous!
