Discussion
To start with, I would like to state that more information is missing the description of the
whole process of RNA synthesis. Indication of the effects on the transcripts’ length by the boat
and at the same time, the temporary significance is not convincing hence the need for more
information on the same. Apart from the missing information, the results shown could have been
contributed by some options. Boat interacts with RNA polymerase in an attempt of termination
of transcription through CTD dephosphorylating hence binds to sites of the boat. Also,
transcription may have been stopped by boat through binding to the sites of the boat,
evidence in the illustration given; hence may be wrong or right depending on how accurate or
Although the full information given in the description is missing as stated by the first
student, I somehow agree to his statements that there is a lack of RNAs mix at different times the
addition of boat, thus affecting the gene transcripts and in return, the length of the transcripts too.
However, I would like to differ in his thoughts that performing Footprint analysis would give an
exact position of the interaction of the boat. As per my thoughts, I believe the performance of the

Footprint analysis would provide a rough estimation of the position of boat interaction with
DNA. His suggestions on the case of the interaction of the DNA with boat augur with the
expected results if it was a real-life problem in research. I concur with the fact that binding of the
rho protein sequence in RNA makes it not acting as a rho protein. Also, the transcript's length
may indeed have been increased due to the action of RNA polymerase as a termination factor
and its ability of downstream binding. Conversely, I disagree with the use of the footprint
analysis in the process; hence, do not suggest any possible causes of the reaction of the boat with
RNA.
I strongly agree with most of the thoughts of the second student. However, I would like to
differ in his statement that one possible option of the results would be that although the boat
could be a rho protein, the boat sites would act as rut site. I don’t think as long as the action of
the boat as rho protein would extend to acting as root sites. Regardless, the above suggestions
and mechanisms may be correct only when the evidence of the information would be provided.
