Body System Replica

In this project you and your lab group will research a human body system and create a life-
sized replica that includes the items below. In doing this, you will become an “expert” on
your body system. You will have 3 classroom days to work and your replica will be due on
Friday, 1/12. You will present on Friday whether your group is ready or not so please use
your time wisely and split up responsibilities. Don’t forget to manage your time and practice
your presentation BEFORE 1/12/17.

You may NOT use electronic devices in your group to do further research. All of your
information should come directly from your notes, outcomes and green science book.

The body system your group is creating is the (circle one):

Digestive
Respiratory
Circulatory
Excretory
Nervous
Skeletal
Muscular

Your campaign must include the following:

1. The name of your body system written clearly.

2. A colored, life-size representation of your body system.

3. A brief description of the overall function(s) of your body system. These should
come from your graphic organizers and NOT from the internet.

4. All organs/parts of your body system drawn on your representation where they
are found in your body and clearly labeled. If your group is doing the skeletal or
muscular system you need to determine what the main bones or muscles are.

5. A complete description of the function of each organ/part you labeled in #4.

6. A complete description of the importance of your body system, how it maintains

homeostasis and how it interacts with the other body systems we have studied.

7. Half of your grade will come from your group’s project grade and half will come
from the grades given you by your group members and yourself. This means you
MUST participate and not just sit back while others work. Please, also, don’t take
over the whole project but encourage others to work with you.
Body System Notes

You should each fill this page out in case someone is absent. This acts as
your rough draft BEFORE you start your poster.

Body System:

Organs/Parts & Their Functions:

A complete description of the importance of your body system, how it

maintains homeostasis and how it interacts with the other body systems we
have studied. Why do humans need this system and what would happen
without it?
Group and Self Assessment

Please write your name and the names of each of your group members and
score yourself and them on the below characteristics. Please be honest and
fair. Don’t play favorites with your friends or give those you may not be fond
of lower scores. I will be the only one who sees the individual scores. Give
scores of 1 – 10 realizing that an F is 0 – 5, D is 6, C is 7, B is 8, and A is 9
or 10. No one should be given a 0 unless they did absolutely nothing.
