Professional Program Courses Overview

Homeopathic studies cover several important areas:

1) The Introduction to Homeopathy (35-40 study hours) course is a good choice if you are new
to Homeopathy and would like to learn more about it in general or perhaps find the best
specialty for you. This course covers the history and core philosophies of Hahnemannian
Homeopathy. It serves as the introduction to the Foundations of Hahnemannian Homeopathy
course as well as the courses for the Foundations in Homeopathic Pharmacy, the Foundations of
Veterinary Homeopathy and the Foundations of Dental Homeopathy. The Introductory course
includes a 100-page Materia Medica as well as a 'toolbox' of information on over 60 remedies.
for many acute situations such as first aid and minor injuries or common colds and flu.

2) The Foundations of Hahnemannian Homeopathy (200 study hours) covers the philosophy
and basic principles of the science of homeopathy. You will learn how a homeopath views
disease, how we map out disease (symptom hierarchy), the basic principles of homeopathy, an
introduction to the Materia Medica, and Repertory etc.

3) After we have studied the basics, we then need to know how to make sense of what we see.
The Homeopathy in Practice Course (HIP – 100 study hours) a companion to Clinical Training
teaches how to work with the signs and symptoms of the diseases we see in patients, including
how to balance what is important and curable in disease with what remedies might cover that
symptom totality It took Hahnemann years and years to formulate this discipline and this
course takes the student homeopath through the vision of our homeopathic ancestors and how
they worked. Why would you want to duplicate on your own all the work of our homeopathic
ancestors when we can teach that to you?? Many people quit homeopathy before they get to
this part The HIP course is starting the students’ feet on the path to actually USING the
philosophy.

3) Clinical Training (100 observational hours a year, note that case write ups earn extra case
taking hours) works along with the HIP course. Depending on a student's background, the
Clinical Observation can and should actually start towards the end of the Foundations Course.
If a student has any kind of medical or counseling background, they should start right away on
this training. Clinical Training at the British Institute allows students to observe real patients and
real cases under the supervision of CHC-Certified Homeopaths. Clinics can be done ‘one line’
live or at the British Institute offices.

Clinical Training with the British Institute allows to students to view and participate both on line
or in the classroom chronic cases. Students work on case write ups, case analysis and remedy
selection.

4) Finally, the Advanced Course (250 study hours). This course gives you more treatment
options - how do I support this patient with and during homeopathic treatment? What more is
needed besides the indicated remedy? How do I move from the well known remedies to more
advanced remedies and to a better remedy?

Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology are also required for professional studies.

A valuable course along with Homeopathic Training is our Clinical Nutrition (this course is
optional) this is not dietary nutrition.

Clinical nutrition does not give dietary advice, but relies on clinical (laboratory) test results to
determine what nutrients are needed to address the biochemical pathways to:  a) support the
organ under the burden of the pathology and b) to have sufficient nutrients to affect tissue
repair.
