Terms and Conditions of entry

APPLICATION FOR ENTRY


An Exhibit cannot compete in any class additional to that for which it is entered on the Application for Entry.
Information, as requested on the application for entry, must be completed otherwise the application may not
be accepted.
An animal’s entry application will only be valid via a correctly completed online entry form, prior to the
closing date displayed.
Photos and video content must be supplied by the required date or the entry will not be accepted. In this
instance, the nomination fee is lost.

ENTRY FEES
An entry fee of $200 + GST per entry will be applicable and must be paid prior to receival of any prize
allocation.

AGE AND DATE OF BIRTH


April 1 is the reference date for the calculation of the age of an animal for the purposes of entering age
classes in the Beef Battle competitions.

CALVES AT FOOT
A calf on an exhibit may be admitted to the judging if it is not over 9 months on 1 April 2020 and is being
suckled by the exhibit. Such a calf is to be the natural born progeny of the exhibit and bear all the
permanent tattoo markings as required if born prior to judging.
All calves at foot must be eligible for full registration in the Herd Book in which its dam is registered.
All calves at foot 6 months or older at the time of judging, must be registered, with the relevant breed
society.

CHAMPIONSHIPS - BEEF COMPETITION


(a) In awarding the senior championship in the Beef Battle competition, the first prize winners of the relative
sex in the single pen classes for exhibits over the age of 20 months shall be eligible.
(b) In awarding the reserve senior championship for the Beef Battle competition the exhibits eligible to
compete shall be:
(i) the first prize winners of the relative sex in the single pen classes for exhibits over the age of 20
months except for the winner to which the championship has been awarded; and
(ii) the second prize winner in the class in which the exhibit later awarded the championship was
awarded the first prize.
(c) In awarding the junior championship in the Beef Battle competition the first prize winners of the relative
sex in the single pen classes for exhibits not over 20 months of age shall be eligible to compete.
(d) In awarding the reserve junior championship in the Beef Battle competition the exhibits eligible to
compete shall be:
(i) the first prize winners of the relative sex in single pen classes for exhibits not over 20 months of
age excepting the winner to which the junior championship has been awarded; and
(ii) the exhibit to which the second prize was awarded in the class in which the exhibit later awarded
junior championship was awarded the first prize.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ENTRY AND BREED SOCIETY REGISTRATION


(a) To be eligible for entry, the exhibit must, at the time of entering the competition:
i. Be fully registered by the relevant recognised Beef Cattle Breed Society in the Herdbook of the
Society or Association; and
ii. The Beef Cattle Breed Society must verify the exhibit contains at least 15/16ths (93.75% or four
generations) blood of the breed being entered.
(b) A copy of the Breed Society registration certificate (both sides) must be available if requested by the
committee.

REGISTRATION AND ANIMAL OWNERSHIP


All cattle entered in the Beef Battle competitions must be registered in the name of the exhibitor and with a
breed society recognised by The Land.

ORDER OF JUDGING
All Classes shall be judged in accordance with the order of classes as printed in the schedule

RESTRICTION OF ENTRIES
Exhibitors will be restricted to entering two bulls and two female entries per exhibitor in total. A total of four
animals per exhibitor.

BREEDPLAN
Exhibitors are entitled to submit breed plan figures and they will be used at the judge’s discretion.

JUDGING
Judging will be undertaken in an online format, with a representative from The Land present and the judge’s
decision will be final.
