Penguard Universal Grey 250 micron (DFT)

Material & Tools Equipment


1. Penguard Universal
This is a two component polyamine cured pure epoxy coating.

2. Tools Equipment
- Spray
Recommend to use airless spray. Conventional air spray may be used
- Brush
May be possible to use. Recommended for stripe coating and small areas. Care
must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness.
- Roller
May be used (Not for primer layer). Care must be taken to achieve the
specified dry film thickness
Note :
* Recommendation of application method shall be followed information stated on
TDS (Technical Data Sheet) from paint manufacture.

Sequence of Works
1. Surface Preparation
- All oil/grease, dust and other contaminants to surface shall be wash by fresh
water. (add detergent if necessary)
- All surfaces prepared for coating shall be abrasive blast clean in accordance
with the following:
Swedish Standard SA 2½ / SA 2
SSPC Standard SSPC-SP 10 / SP 6
NACE Nace 2 / 3

"When viewed without magnification, the surface shall be free from visible
oil, grease, and dirt, and the from mill scale, rust, paint coatings and
matter. Any remaining traces of contamination shall show only as slight
stains in the form or stripes or no more than 5 precent."

- The profile roughness achieved shall be between 30 – 85 microns as measured


using Replica Tape Testex Press-O film and anvil micrometer or digital
profile gauge in accordance to ASTM D 4417 to perform better adhesion.
