CHEAP DIY RE-AMP BOX

This build is an adaption of a description found in Guitar Classics - DIY Bible, Amps & Pedals from 2012. In that article they
worked from a circuit by Scott Dorsey that was published in Recording Magazine. Most comersial re-amp boxes, and diy-boxes too
for that matter are usually based around speciallised expensive transformers, but here we use a an inexpensive 600:600 transformer
that does the job. This box has a low pass filter. This could easily be acoplished in your daw when sending the signal. If you think
it’s unnecessary just skip the SPDT switch and the 330pF capacitor.

COMPONENTS Drill holes for surface

Aluminuim box 11cm x 6cm x 3cm mounted components.
Transformer 600:600 (Eg. TAMURA 838-MET-31)
Female XLR socket
2 small screws
1/4” mono jack socket
680 Ohm resistor
10K Logametric pot
50K Linear pot
SPDT switch
Ceramic capacitor 330pF

You also need some wire for conecting the compontents, as well as
some basic tools like soldering iron, solder, clipper, screw driver and
pliers. You also need a drilling machine and suitable drill bits for
sockets, pots and swtich. Reference the parts you buy.

Start with making holes for the mounted components. Mount all the
sockets and other surface mount components. The transformer has
six legs. Take a look at the specs for it and locate pin 1, 3, 4 and 6.
Proceed with soldering everything point to point. Just reference the
illustration below and you should be fine.
