Yangtze River

Yangtze River is the longest river in China and the Third longest river in the world.
Yangtze River originates from the Plateau of Tibet, while the river’s mouth empties into the
East China Sea. Yangtze River is not only historically and culturally important, but is also
economically important as well. Yangtze River holds a long, rich history seeded in Chinese
culture. One of it is “Chairman Mao Swims in the Yangtze River”. Chairman Mao is a 72-
year-old chairman whom is feared that his legacy would be under counterrevolution.
Chairman Mao took a dip in the Yangtze River to show to the world that he was still in
robust health. A decade later, more than a million people had perished cause of Yangtze
River.
