Hi Paul
Today is my last day at school. In two months’
time I’ll be at university. I’m going to find
somewhere to live next month near the
university. Will anyone want to share a flat with
me? There must be someone who wants to. I can
cook and I’m quite a tidy person. I’m going to
post a message on the message board on the
university’s website and I’ll see what happens.
I’ve promised myself that I’m going to have a new
image when I go to university. I’ve always worn
quite old-fashioned clothes, but I’ve decided I’m
going to be more fashionable. I’m going to wear
lipstick and nail varnish and I’m going to dye my
hair. I might even have a tattoo. It’s difficult to
change image when you see the same people
every day, but I think university is a great
opportunity. Nobody knows me at university
except Mandy. She’s going to the same university
as me and she wants to change her appearance
and identity too. We’ve promised each other that
we won’t tell anyone what the old Mandy and the
old Helen used to be like!
Don’t worry – I’ll still be the same person. You
just might not recognize me next time you see
me. My sense of humour is something that
certainly won’t change. And by the way I’m not
planning to replace my friends either!
