unless the depth is less than 10 mm (see A.3.1.1).

4.2.1.2 Test method Newly added

The test probes shall be made from plastic or other smooth, hard material, which can be mounted on
a force measuring device.
Check whether the conical probe for mesh (Figure 3) with an applied force up to 30 N enters into a
mesh hole to the 7 mm section.

8.2.2 Test method Mount the finger probe (see 5.2) on a device for exerting a force and
insert the probe with an applied force of up to 30 N into the openings
in mesh and flexible materials.

Check whether the 5 mm test probe (Figure 4) with an applied force of up to 30 N, enters 10 mm or
more into any completely bounded circular openings in rigid materials, in any possible orientation.

If the 5 mm test probe enters 10 mm or more, then the 12 mm test probe (Figure 2) shall also enter 10
mm or more with an applied force of up to 5 N.

4.2.2 Strangulation Newly added 9 Mechanical hazards – entanglement

There shall be no drawstrings or cords attached to the children's sleep bags (see A.3.2). 9.1 Requirements When tested in accordance with 9.2, cords, ribbons and parts used
A children's sleep bag shall not include any device designed to attach the children's sleep bag to the as ties shall have a maximum length of 75 mm.
cot or cot mattress. The ends of ribbons and parts used as ties shall be secured to
prevent unravelling.
Monofilament threads shall not be used.
NOTE See A.5 for further information.

9.2 Test method Measure the length of a cord, ribbon or part used as a tie from the
fixing point on the sleep bag to its free end, while applying a 25 N
tensile force to it.

4.2.3 Small part aspiration or ingestion, 10 Mechanical hazards – choking and ingestion
