Application of DEMECH Tuff Wear™ Brushable

Ceramic coating and Tuff Metal™ Superior Metal for

pipe under supports

DEMECH Product recommendation:

Scope of Work:
1. Fabricate the Pad support (Gas Cutting/Hand Cutting) as per Standard
Size and Dress the Pad support by grinding to remove burrs.
2. Size of the pad support shall be 1/3 of circumference of the pipe x (250-
300) mm length.
3. Pad support shall be fabricated from the same pipe size and fabricating
the pad with edge preparation to suite the circumference of the required
pipe size (the pipe for which pad support to be fixed).
4. Surface preparation of Pad support sections to SA 2 to 2.5 after abrasive
blasting with dry compressed air @ 6 Kg/cm2.
5. Applications of Tuff Wear™ Brushable Ceramic (Make: DEMECH) on
bottom portion/outer surface of pad support pad @ 400-500 micron on
same day.
6. Manual cleaning (using Wire Brush/Emery) of pipe at pad support
locations after lifting of pipelines. Cleaning the bottom portion of pipe
line at support location with Tetra chloro ethylene based cleaner with
fast drying and propollent CO2.
1. In case of pipe support will use after 10 days of abrasive blasting and
application of Tuff Wear™ Brushable Ceramic, also required of manual
cleaning (using Wire Brush/Emery) of cut pipe support pad inside
portion for application of Tuff Metal™ Superior Metal paste.
10 Fixing of Pad at cleaned support area with application of Ferro Silicone
based Tuff Metal™ Superior Metal paste (Make: DEMECH) @ 2mm
thick inside cut pipe support pad in contact with the pipeline.
11 Lowering the Pipe line carefully to avoid damages to the coating, and
leveling the excess metal paste.
12 The job also involves removal of insulation materials from the pipe.
Stages of Inspection:

1. Checking the dimension of the Fabricated Pad

2. Checking the surface preparation after Grit Blasting and Cleaning of Pipe
line at support location.
3. Application of Tuff Metal™ Superior Metal paste carefully inside cut pipe
support pad in contact with the pipeline and check, whether no porosity
will present.
4. Site corner and edges will be filled and labeled properly, where no chance
to enter water.
5. Checking the DFT of Tuff Wear™ Brushable Ceramic on bottom
portion/outer surface of pad support pad and Tuff Metal™ Superior
Metal paste inside the Pad before fixing.
