Hi Rafa
I went to a great party last night. It was Julie’s
sixteenth birthday and the whole class was
invited. It was held in the school hall. It was a
fancy dress party. We had to choose a decade
and wear the fashion of those years.
I chose the sixties. I’m not mad about the sixties,
but it was quite easy to find some clothes. My
grandmother showed me some photos of her and
Grandad in the sixties. They looked so young! I
wore a long, simple dress and a flower in my
hair. Luckily, although it was December, it wasn’t
too cold. Everyone identified my clothes
correctly.
David’s clothes were by far the worst. He chose a
Preppy look – he was wearing a smart shirt and a
tennis jumper round his shoulders. He was trying
to look cool, but everybody thought he was
wearing his normal clothes!
Nobody knew what decade Lisa had chosen. She
was wearing colourful trousers and a tight
sophisticated shirt. When I asked her, she said,
‘This is the fashion of the 2020s – you’re all so old-
fashioned! These clothes will be worn by your
children, but remember – I wore them first!’ I’m
attaching the photo I took of Lisa and if I ever
have children, I’ll show them!
Love from Carla
