NURSE JOB DESCRIPTION

DUTIES AND NURSING RESPONSIBILITIES

The duty of a nurse is to carry out her role as a nurse who provides care according to the stages of the
nursing process. The following is a description of the nurse's duties:

1. Nursing Executor
A nurse in charge of providing nursing services to individuals, families, groups or communities ranging
from simple to complex according to the diagnosis of the problem that occurs.

2. Manager (Administrator)
The duty of a nurse as an administrator referred to here is the nurse as a specific health worker in the
health care system remains united with other professions in the health service that can regulate, plan,
implement and assess the actions given to patients. Because nurses as professional members have the
longest time meeting with patients, nurses must arrange, plan and implement various alternative nursing
treatments that must be accepted by patients.

3. Educator
The nurse's duty as an educator, which is to help patients enhance their knowledge in an effort to improve
health, symptoms of the disease according to the conditions and specific actions taken to patients, families
and other health teams both spontaneously (during interaction) and formal (prepared).

4. Researcher
The duty of a nurse as a researcher here is that a nurse is in charge of evaluating, measuring abilities,
assessing and considering the effectiveness of the actions given to patients. A nurse is expected to be an
innovator in nursing in order to develop nursing knowledge and improve the practice of the nursing
profession.

From the description of the nurses' tasks above, we can conclude the main duties of nurses in carrying out
their profession. The following are the main tasks of nurses:
a. Collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
b. Develop a nursing action plan
c. Implement nursing care in accordance with the concepts and principles of behavioral science, social
culture, biomedical science
d. Evaluating data on nursing problems
e. Record data in the nursing process
f. Use patient records to monitor the quality of nursing care
g. Identify research problems in the field of nursing
h. Apply research results in nursing practice
i. Plan, create and evaluate health education
j. Participate in health services to individuals, families, groups and the community

A nurse also has an assistant who helps him carry out his duties. Nurses and nurse assistants help each other
in providing care according to the stages of the nursing process. The duties of the nurse assistant are certainly
different from that of a nurse, the following are the duties of the nurse assistant:

1. Take care of the patient


A nurse assistant is responsible for looking after the patient, such as keeping the patient clean by bathing
and cleaning the patient's room. Not infrequently also the nurse's assistant installed the patient's diaper.
2. Caring for the patient
Nurse assistants also help treat patients well, such as helping patients eat normally as well as using aids
and wearing clothes.
3. Give medicine
A nurse's assistant also helps give medicines to patients according to the rules of drinking according to
their levels and dosages.
CRITERIA OF A NURSE

Furthermore, it is necessary to know the criteria and requirements of a reliable and professional nurse in
carrying out his profession, the following criteria:

a. A nurse must be able to communicate completely, accurately and quickly


b. Able to speak and write in a foreign language with a minimum of English
c. Can work together with colleagues and other health workers, especially the medical team as partners in
providing care to patients
d. In carrying out their duties a nurse must always be guided by the ethical values of nursing and existing
nursing standards and nursing
e. A nurse must have a high commitment to the profession by continuing to increase knowledge through
formal / non-formal education, to a certain expertise.
f. A nurse must have an adequate educational foundation, with expertise and a high educational base as an
indicator of service quality assurance and avoid fatal mistakes
g. A nurse must understand the concept of overall management, specifically Nursing Management
