Issues faced by law enforcement during human trafficking investigation

Human trafficking is a worldwide issue and one of the world's most


despicable crimes, influencing the lives of millions of people around the
world and denying them of their dignity. And law enforcement are facing
numerous issues in handling the investigation due to its broad principles,
aspects, jurisdiction and etc. one of the issues facing law enforcement in
dealing with human trafficking are barriers to victim identification, most
common ways law enforcement officers report learning about and
identifying human trafficking victims is in the course of other
investigations, such as drug raids and domestic violence calls mainly
usual way officers become aware of a human trafficking case is through a
tip, which comes from varied sources and to manage this method,
increase in tips from the public may indicate that awareness campaigns
are raising the public consciousness of trafficking victims.

Human trafficking as the modern-day slavery

Time pass by modernization are the main reason why also crime are also
high tech and accurate, through the years people need to strive more to
have money due to the high price of commodities and applicant cant find
occupation. Human trafficking is their best option to attain what they need.
That’s why human trafficking are in demand now a days. Force labor,
through coercion, or mental or physical threat; trapped and controlled by
an ’employer’, through mental or physical abuse or the threat of abuse are
just example why human trafficking are form of modern-day slavery.
The differences between human smuggling and human trafficking

Human Trafficking can be either a commercial sex act that is induced by


force, fraud, or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such
an act has not attained legal age. It can also be the recruitment, harboring,
transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor or services
through the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of subjection to
involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery. Human
smuggling on the other hand, is the importation of people into a specific
country which involves deliberate evasion of immigration laws. Smuggling
is transportation-based and involves movement. Trafficking is exploitation-
based. The key distinction between smuggling and Human Trafficking is
freedom of choice. Trafficking is involuntary while Smuggling is
voluntary. Human Trafficking and smuggling are far apart.
