I have chosen the “Secondary” educational level because nowadays, youngsters are

more interested in both, technology (social networks among many) and learning new
languages, especially English. Thus, it is necessary to implement new strategies that
allow students and tutors to take advantage of both English and the ITCs, not only
during the class per se, but also in the evaluation process.

“The internet, with its hyperlinked structure allowing learners to choose the material
and which direction to go and to do this at their own pace, is in line with constructivist
learning theory and enables learners to become autonomous (Luzón-Marco, 2002),
which is one of the skills students need to develop today (Felix, 2005).

At secondary level, students are also more aware of the English importance on the
global market and the cultural openness, so their attitude toward English is changing but
not yet enough. English nowadays is a necessity, not a desire or both, thus, English
language teaching and learning is growing fast around the world and the assessment of
the ELL is becoming a requirement that need to be implemented with new strategies
that encourage students to get more involved in the expanding demands on the use of
English and technology.

Another factor why I chose the secondary level is because students at this level are
interested in getting higher scores in test such as TOEFL, MET, and TOEIC, to get
prepared for the university education, the need to be internationally competitive and
communicatively competent if they want to travel abroad for job, studies or tourism.
Education is very complex and has many components; in this work, the aims are the
types of evaluations and assessments, and its procedures to evaluate students’
performance. The academic evaluation is conceived as a process of comprehensive
training and performance review of the educational process, while the assessment is
part of a systematic and planned process that provide useful, timely and reliable
information on several aspects of the teaching-learning process. It evaluates not only
cognitive but also procedural and attitudinal competencies, constituting a relevant
variable of validity and reliability, thus, providing a meaningful and effective learning.

Teachers
Nowadays, the teaching in
the secondary is very
important because We live
in a time of never before
held access to information,
which means teachers must
compete with a wide-
ranging array of media for
the finite attention of their
students and is essential to
implement and improve the
quality of educational
technology for teachers
with innovative resources to
improve educational
quality, in this way, It is
vital that teachers update
themselves in the use of
new teaching tools. thus,
technology education will
have an essential starting
point for any educational
activity in technology.
Digital tools can also
provide the necessary
bridge to connect educators
with experts from different
disciplines working in that
field
Teachers are responsible for
educating several
generations over the years,
over time the educational
systems are no longer the
same, methodologies must
be updated and with the
rapid development of
technologies, there is
nothing left but to adapt to
them, not only for what
they offer but also because
young people are the ones
who mark the step of what
they want to learn.
Therefore it is important to
encourage teachers an
excellent practice in the
teaching of Technology
since a teacher shares the
knowledge, tools, and
techniques necessary for
students to develop the
technological literacy they
need.
