I want to continue my research work where I can use my basic concepts of electrical engineering
and basic sciences to develop smart and economic solutions to engineering problems for
betterment of human life and sustainable development. IIT Bombay is one of the prestigious
institute in India. It offers flexibility in research areas and provides good facilities for the same. It
would be a great honour to be a research scholar at your institute.

I have completed my graduation in Electrical Engineering (B. Tech) from Walchand College of
engineering, Sangli in 2013. Then I worked in industry for two years as project engineer where I
have handled the diesel generator (DG) set installation, commissioning and service maintenance
work. After that I have pursued my post-graduation (M.E Power systems) from Govt. College of
Engineering, Aurangabad from 2015-2017. Presently I am working as assistant professor in
Electrical Engineering Department at MIT, Aurangabad.

PG research work: I have worked on phasor measurement unit (PMU). In that I understood
PMU functional architecture and different algorithms used for computing phasor, synchronized
phasor measurements and its application in modern power system monitoring and control. I
completed my master’s project on optimal placement of PMU for power system state
observability using integer programming in MATLAB. The GA & BILP methods used for
optimal PMU placement has been simulated and verified on standard IEEE- 14, 30, 39 & 57 bus
systems. I have published two research papers on applications of synchrophasor measurements &
optimal placement of PMU in power system in IEEE sponsored international conferences.

Along with this I also gain the knowledge about PMU applications, its installations in major
power systems around the world. The PMU pilot projects in Indian power grid jointly governed
by PGCIL & POSOCO Ltd. India. The challenges in adopting PMU and synchrophasor
technology.

Future research interest: I do have keen interest in power system monitoring and control using
smart tools like PMU. To identify various new applications based on synchrophasor
measurements and research new algorithms in power system operations. The use of smart tools
like PMU in harvesting and integrating renewables in power systems. Forecasting the near real
time wind generation and gives solution for optimum generator scheduling. PMU and
synchrophasor based solution for islanding problem. The use of PMU can avoid black-out
situation by smartly monitoring power system.
